I bought this guitar over the Breedlove ad25. I wanted the Breedlove for over a month, however at the last minute i tried to Taylor only once and new that this guitar was the one. The sound is amazing unplugged and plugged. I heard you are required to get a humidifier for this guitar, but im too lazy to get that now, someone post if im wrong, i put it in the case when i don't use it.I play alot of gigs with this guitar, before i used a washburn with acoustic pickup. This guitar made everything sound so much better than i did before. I don't have a amp for home, so i use the computer and plug the guitar in through the mixer. If you have the right sound controls and the know how, you basically have an amp/COMPUTER! saying this in case people think they have to get a acoustic amp.I HIGHLY recomend this guitar, the feel is good, the quality is amazing(INDIAN ROSEWOOD), fret board is smoother than baby's bottom(which is decently smooth), electronics are amazing and simple. Get this guitar before it sells out like all the other taylors. The first day i got this guitar, there were a few small wood chips inside my guitar. THat was a few hours after i played it. These wood chips were REALLY small, i mean so small that i couldn't even tell it was actually in the guitar till i put my ear up to it. GET THIS GUITAR

I purchased this Taylor a few weeks back. Reference guitar is my Martin D-35. The Taylor is overall a well made guitar, is solid and very playable. The only reason for my low score is the tone that comes out. It's just way too tinny for my ear. I am trading it in any day now.

plugged in, or not, still sounds great

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i don't own the 214ce but plan on it in the somewhat near future. when i have the money. i sat in the acoustic room at the guitar store a while back, and played for about 10-15minutes unplugged, then about the same amount of time plugged in. i purposely played 90percent of the other guitars in that room, and even martins and gibsons that were well over 3 grand still didn't sound as good. i think taylor may have a customer for life

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a singer/songwriter and this guitar is perfect for what I do. I received it as a Christmas gift in 2008 and I love it. I plan on getting another Taylor, probably one in the Koa series, but until then this guitar is rocking. I love love love it. For anyone that wants a high quality starter guitar, this is perfect.

Great Acoustic

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I originaly bought a 110ce but the pickup was messed up and when I went to exchange, they did not have a 110ce so I payed a little extra for the 214ceGA. I should have bought this first because this has been excellent. The neck feels awesome. The action on this guitar is perfect for me, I did not have to adjust anything. The sound is great. I am well pleased with my guitar in general. now I am not to fond of the pick up system but have had no issues that my eq cant fix. All in all GREAT guitar!

Way over priced

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I wanted an acoustic electric to complement my Blueridge br-180 Dreadnought and my Martin 000-15.. Guitars are a personal thing for sure but this one just didn't work for me. Although the nut width is 1 11/16th, the neck feels fat and slow. I liked the looks of the guitar and it's certainly well built. What many folks call a "sparkling" sound to me just seemed a euphemism for thin and weak. This guitar has a poor bottom. The mids and highs sound thin. The volume is acceptable played acoustically. Plugged in, it doesn't really get any better, it still sounded harsh and thin plugged in in spite of equalization.I suppose | shouldn't be so harsh on this guitar but it sounds like what you would expect to get for less than half the price. Save your money and buy an all solid wood guitar. For a little more you can get a martin 000c-16gte or a little less $ you can get Blueridge br-143ce which are both far superior instruments.

Fabulous all around guitar.

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a fabulous representetive of the Taylor company. I have just recently begun guitar lessons ( 5 months ago ) and this was my first guitar. This particular guitar (in my opinion) is the best beginner, intermediate, and professional guitar for anybody and any talent. Its easy to play, soft neck, beautiful echoing body, everything good about it. It is a guitar that will start you off, keep you going, and take you into stardom. Even if you have been playing for 35 years, it will still be able to take you further. Where there are some guitars where you have to buy a new one every year because one isnt capable of the level of toughness you are at. This one stays with you. its just all around GREAT! :D

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for almost a year now and and still love the feel and sound. I play mostly for self and family. However, I have been known to play in a church service or two. This guitar is fantastic and sounds loud unplugged.

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's incredible how it is amazingly worth it, such great playing ability, quality although some parts are plastic but have u watched how they make Taylor acoustic's on Musicians Friend. Bob taylor say's the acoustic's have the black plastic around the body but why complain its not doing anything wrong with its sound and stuff.like I said before great quality, sound, and body.Great buy nothing wrong with it having plastic.

How can someone...

By Tell-Tale

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

How can someone think this guitar is not good its amazing, everything of this guitar sound, quality, shape, wood, everything amazing. Its so powerful, string's either good or bad the string's will always sound the same, feeling of this guitar has no gloss at all, which is cool because it wont leave finger prints. And when you look at this in person it's not really dark the color is equal I dont know why it has a bright neck and dark body in the pic anyway's and this would last a long time from now.So buy one it is worth all the money you have for such beauty and quality.

Taylor sound under $1000

By Mark-4Jx5e

from Phoenix

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The point of any musical instrument is the sound it produces - and this guitar sounds great. I'm getting back into the guitar after not playing for a while, so I took a friend to the store with me to try out eight guitars I was interested in, all in the same price range. I listened to all of them blind, and the sound of this one stood out dramatically; I knew I was going to buy it before I knew which one it was. I went into this believing the Taylor name was mostly hype, but I've changed my mind. Of course, better guitars are available for more money, but at this price point I don't think the 214 can be beat. I only gave it a 4 on features because it doesn't have the full Expression system.
