Quality build, premiere woods, and electronics make this a 6-string of style and strength.

The Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar features a desirable gloss finish that you'll take a shine to. The Grand Auditorium was the first guitar shape designed from scratch by Bob Taylor. It was unveiled to commemorate the company's 20th Anniversary in 1994, and since then it has more than lived up to its promise. Although the Taylor GA acoustic-electric guitar has the width and depth of a dreadnought, its narrower waist gives it the appearance of a smaller instrument, adds treble "zing" across the guitar's tonal spectrum, sharpens the definition of individual notes, and also enables it to rest comfortably in the lap. Because Taylor removes mass from the width of the GA's braces, the guitar top moves faster, resulting in a snappy, bell-like tone. The Taylor GA acoustic-electric guitar is designed to be a strong fingerpicking guitar that also can handle medium strumming, and is exceptionally versatile. The cutaway feature on the Taylor guitar's body makes reaching the upper-register frets a snap, giving you comfortable access up and down the ebony fret board.

The Taylor 214ce guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top, a top-quality wood, known for its balanced tone and clarity. The Indian rosewood (maple on black model) back and sides, another premiere wood, produces rich, booming sound, with the perfect element of projection. The 25-1/2" scale, 1-11/16" nut width, and 15" radius adds comfort for intricate movements up and down the ebony fretboard.

The NT neck joint fits into a specially cut pocket in the body of the Taylor guitar. The frets are supported equally by the neck, creating a more stable playing surface, one that is continually straight, from the bottom to the top of the neck. The mahogany neck on the 214ce is strong and provides added presence and clarity in the tone, and the ebony bridge and fretboard bring out lasting sustain.

At the heart of Taylor's 214ce guitar lies an integrated electronics system, letting you dial in and amplify the guitar quickly and effortlessly. The electronics include bass, treble, and volume controls, for an individualized plugged-in experience. Taylor tuners keep the Grand Auditorium guitar in precise tuning and chrome hardware add an extra sleek look to this already stunning offering from Taylor. You won't believe the sound.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar used and saved hundreds and it's basically new. I would have spent a quarter more buying the gitter here in San Juan. Guitar has a big sound and clear tone, sounds great and I haven't put on the new strings yet. Looking forward to some great music with my almost-new taylor guitar. I was deciding between this guitar and a martin and glad I went with the Taylor

This guitar is an awesome all around guitar. You can take her from strumming to finger style with ease. Although i will say it shines more in finger style. Its got incredible craftsmanship too coming from Taylor i expect nothing less. I tried numerous other guitars too Martins some Seagulls some Breedlove guitars but this Taylor is something special.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Got this beauty as a gift (for myself) for Christmas. I did a lot of research on electric acoustics in the price range of this guitar. Was seriously looking at, and trying out the Breedlove Atlas Stage and Yamaha A3 series. One day just decided to try out the Taylor 214ce and knew this was the one. I decided on the natural finish. This guitar just has a wonderful look to it and sounds great acoustic or plugged in. Only very minor complaints are no built in tuner (not too big a deal) and lack of a hardshell case that other guitars in this price range come included. The gig bag, however is a really good firm one but just not as protective as a hardshell case. Got a great deal with Musician's Friend with super fast shipping. Very happy with this purchase!!!

Comments about Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This instrument is a thing of beauty. First, let's talk aesthetics: It looks exceptional. The sunburst finish is absolutely stunning, and well worth the extra money you'll pay for it. The rosewood back and sides are incredible to look at, and they give this guitar a light, but balanced sound, especially in comparison with the 114ce, which is hugely similar, but slightly more bright in my opinion.

As for sound, I don't know that this instrument can be beat. It's on par with any guitar I have ever heard, and in my humble opinion, it exceeds most. It has "the" Taylor sound. You won't find a better sounding instrument on the market, especially at the price point.

It came set up perfectly. The action is super low, and it plays like magic. I feel like I hardly have to press the strings, especially after transitioning from a cheap guitar.

At the end of the day, I have absolutely nothing but praise for this instrument. It pulled me out of some hard times. It is truly my proudest possession. If you're considering it, please go ahead and get it. I assure you, you will not be disappointed.

I am impressed with this guitar but was surprised to find out after purchase it is made in Mexico. It came with a really great gig bag that has good protection. I am planning to put lighter strings on it to make it easier to play. It his excellent electronics giving good bass as well as clear high tones.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Out of all the guitars I tried today at the music store, I love this one the most. It is such a beautiful piece of work. I now understand why rosewood is the most commonly used wood on guitars. It has such a great sound that can be controlled by the player. I first played it, and I thought that it was so awesome, and I thought it would be the one, that there was nothing else better than that one. It really surprised me that this was the one. It didn't sound tinny at all, and it had such a beautiful bright tone. It brought out the treble so much. AND THE ELECTRONICS!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE "Expression System" SO MUCH!!! I could play this guitar all day long. So satisfied with this guitar. NO JOKE!!!

I've tried many Taylors at more expensive prices. I finally chose this one because it delivers the sound of the pricier guitars and suits my finger-picking style well. I've played classical guitars for many years, but wanted something I could play for performance with a small amp. I don't think I'll ever need to buy another guitar.

Comments about Taylor 214ce Rosewood/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

                                This guitar is absolutely amazing!

I have it in tobacco burst and I can't stop looking at it. I really like the gloss soundboard with the satin sides and neck.

I can't believe how good it sounds fingerpicked! It really projects and is crystal clear - and sounds full while strumming too. Plugged in it sounds just as good- easy to eq and just an all around fun guitar to play.

The acton is exceptional for an acoustic and it played flawlessly from the second I opened it.

The only downside is that Taylor doesn't include a hard case, but a padded hard bag. Maybe there's something wrong with me that I think a guitar this expensive should be in a hard case... I tried a bunch of hard cases, but a grand auditorium is a hard guitar to match a case to. Finally ended up paying to order one from Taylor.

I would absolutely have to replace this guitar if anything happened to it. Played guitars 3x as much money and I'd rather have a 214...
