Well-balanced, big-bodied sound with a very appealing look.
Part of Taylor's 300 Series Special Edition models, the 326ce SEB pairs their full-bodied Grand Symphony shape with a tonewood duet of sapele back and sides and mahogany top for a dynamic strumming acoustic with a potent all-around voice. This beauty's midrange power is balanced by a husky low end, and clear, crisp highs. Its mahogany top provides players with a well-balanced linear response across the tonal spectrum.
Aethetically, the 326ce SEB features a shaded edgeburst top, satin finish, three-ring rosette, black pickguard and black binding to add throwback appeal that complement the rich-grained look of the mahogany top. It also offers a Venetian cutaway and Taylor' Expression System 2 electronics for an even more versatile playing experience.
With a slightly larger footprint than the Grand Auditorium, the GS yields a slightly more potent and dynamic all-around sound. Players can expect deeper bass, thicker trebles, and increased volume and low-end sustain, all without disrupting the tonal balance and clarity of the guitar. The Veneitan cutaway gives you more access for the entire fret when you're getting down and dirty on those solos.
As a top wood, mahogany produces a natural compression, so it won™t yield as quick a response as a spruce-top guitar will. A mahogany-top guitar will produce strong fundamentals, with clear and direct focus. It might be characterized as having a woody, dry tone.
Sapele' tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. It' comparable to mahogany but its higher density tends to produce a slightly brighter sound with more top-end shimmer.
Expression System 2
Taylor' breakthrough acoustic pickup marks a major advance in piezo technology thanks to a patented behind-the-saddle design. The unique placement of three piezo sensors captures a more dynamic range of acoustic sound and responds well in a variety of settings.
