OVERVIEW

A powerful guitar with impressive tonal breadth, dynamic range and Expression System electronics.

Ovangkol lends exotic flare to the 400 Series®, with a tone many find similar to Indian rosewood. Follow the fluid lines of the Venetian cutaway, dramatically outlined with contrasting white binding. The Expression System pickup completes the package on the popular 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar. The bold-voiced GS body style, together with an ovangkol/Sitka spruce tonewood pairing, translates into a powerful guitar with impressive tonal breadth and dynamic range. It’ll cover a lot of sonic terrain.

Ovangkol/Sitka
The timbre of ovangkol, which many find reminiscent of rosewood, combines with the punch of a Sitka spruce top to create a rich tonal tapestry.

Grand Symphony (GS)
Though you might see similarities to a Grand Auditorium, the GS is unique in both sound and shape. Significant changes in its geometry yield a deeper, more piano-like bass. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist return ample volume and low-end sustain, in symphony with fuller mids and balanced highs.

Expression System®
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System amplifies your guitar with an unrivaled, natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally-clean amplified sound. It’s your tone. Amplified.

Gloss Top/Satin Back & Sides
The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Comments about Taylor 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I selected this guitar to compliment my Martin DSR. I also have a Taylor GSMini. All three guitars are used to support the various tunings I need to play my music. The 416CE is truly an excellent guitar. I have not had the chance to plug it in yet, but the unplugged sound is exceptional. It truly compliments my Martin and it is an excellent standup guitar for small venues.

Comments about Taylor 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have the limited edition of this guitar and I really think that it's the best thing I bought of my life! I'm living for this guitar! The first time I just strummed the strings my heart stopped beating for a second! Yes I really recommend it!

About as good as it gets

Comments about Taylor 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This thing is amazing. I've been playing since I was 9 and have played with and recorded with multiple artists, and now at college for string performance on guitar. I can do anything that I need to practice for school (all classical) or play anything I just love to play, which is pretty much any song with a guitar part in it. The 4- series is set perfect to get some cool lead parts out of an acoustic, and also has great sound for just jammin around. This guitar, with the Grand Symphony body is so much louder than most the acoustics that I think I've ever played. It's easy, sounds great for anything, and in my opinioin, the best acoustic guitar on the market. Sometimes with these sounds you wouldn't even think it has a cutaway. Not to mention it's just beautiful. Amazing, versitile guitar. I got mine from Portmans Music in Savannah, Ga, great place. Stop in if you're ever down.
