Fill any room with brilliant and resonant sound.

The Taylor maple model 615-CE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar has been affectionately referred to as a guitar cannon with good reason. It has excellent projection. The distinctive blend of big leaf maple and Sitka spruce creates a bright, crystalline timbre with strong projection and warm overtones.

The Jumbo Electric-Acoustic delivers the extra-deep resonance and volume that come with a larger sound chamber together with its own signature subtleties. Revoicing has sharpened its tonal difference from the Dreadnought. With a huge presence, the Jumbo is perfectly suited for aggressive strumming.

Luxurious appointments include an ebony headstock overlay, ebony bridge, white binding, abalone soundhole rosette, and abalone leaf inlays.

The Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

The finish on the 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway -that is used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides- was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

I waited since 1984 to get a new acoustic, was looking hard at the Martins but was advised by a few of my friends to give Taylor a shot.

Boy am I glad I did! I love this guitar, plugged or un-plugged! The intonation and and neck rival most electrics right out of both the boxes and hard shell case it came in!
Taylor is one of the best guitars made.

Simply love it. Get one for yourself!

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

Call up your friends and family and play your songs for them! This guitar will blow everyone away. Whether you're playing a small club or playing in your Living Room - you will be more than pleased at it's gorgeous sounds! Plug it straight into a home recording or professional studio - no effects needed!

You can read every other Taylor review and probably hear the same types of comments. Every Taylor I own makes me feel like a professional...Thank You Mr. Taylor for creating such perfectly crafted instruments.

I played all of the Talyors - from the 400 series up to the 800 series and it was difficult to choose; but, this one just got me! So I put in on lay away and I'm picking it up this weekend!

never quit!

Truly awesome guitar

By Richard Carew

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

I bought my 615ce a month ago and had to have the action lowered to suit my taste. While I was at it I had the guy build me a new saddle and nut out of genuine ivory. It plays like a dream now and the ivory gives it a full bass and chime like mid and high range tones. My guitar arrived with a tortise shell pick gaurd and amber colored back and sides which I think looks better than the pale model shown in MF web site. The curly maple back and sides blend well with the maple neck as do the ebony headstock overlay with the ebony fretboard and bridge. The 615ce has the tone and appearance that does it all for me. I'll keep it the rest of my life and pass it on to my kid who doesn't play but maybe one of his kids will. When I compare this guitar to the Guild GAD40C (made in China) I traded in it's like the difference between a Chevy 4WD and a Japanese econo box. This guitar just feels sturdier and well made.
The curly maple back and sides blend well as does the ebony headstock overlay and ebony fretboard and bridge. I wish they had used wood in the binding but, oh well....
The wood in my guitar is excelent. The book matched back and top are great. The back has well matced pieces that show a great deal of care to the selection process. The top has a fine grained Sitka spruce with an overarching celular design where the grain of the wood is separated into cells about 3mm tall and 2cm wide. Both of the top pieces fit together to form a truly unique and very subtle design.
A lifetime of pleasure playing a beautiful guitar vs. the cost. It all works out in the end.

Simple Amazing!

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

This is by far my favorite guitar. I have a 2008 Taylor 615ce in the beautiful tobacco sunburst. It is visually stunning, sounds unbelievable, and plays like a dream! This guitar is very zingy yet loud and exciting. Anytime I take it out, the rooms attention is focused on me. The 614ce is a great guitar and I own that too but I think the 600 series really shines in the 615ce because it's a jumbo! Buys this you won't regret it.

615ce What an Incredible Sound!

By Kokopelibear

from Kansas

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

I was gifted my 30th anniversary 615ce in 2004 after my 150th anniversary edition Martin had been stolen out of my car. Mine is Tobacco Sunburst with all the inlayed maple leaves, mother of pearl and abalone. Besides being just an incredibly great looking guitar, the sound that comes out of this guitar is unreal! I have played in jams with electric guitars unplugged and have no problem being heard. I am just a rhythm player, but I will let this guitar out of my hands once in a while to someone who is a lead player that has been blown away by how great this guitar plays and I have to practically pry it out of their hands to get it back? I know that the cost is up there a bit, but it absolutely worth it. Just do it!

Taylor 615CE a best in class guitar

By Toomanyguitarsguy

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

My wife bought this guitar for me in 2008 and the wood has continued to mature over the past 8 years. The high quality of workmanship is unmatched. This guitar plays extremly well and is faster than most electrics that I have played. I use the Elixer nanoweb medium strings and that provides the best response, sound, and feel for me. The bass tones are strong however the mid and high end are not so, therefore it is not as good for playing lead when playing acoustically. The highly versitile Fishman system makes up for the lack of tone balance when playing through an amp.The frets are wearing faster than I would have thought and may need replacing in a couple of years, this is likely a Taylor issue as my Taylor 110 is showing the same wear after just 2 years. As a reference point, the frets on my Martin D28 lasted 25 years through much heavier play. The 615 is an heirloom instrument that is beautifully appointed and stands apart from other guitars in it's class. I am quite proud to "show it off" at open mic's and other amateur gigs as everyone who sees it just loves it.

amazing sound and an amazing guitar

By taylorplayer513

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

I have owned several upper-end acoustics. This is, by far, the best of them all. I wanted a bigger sound than what a standard dreadnaught could offer, and the grand auditorium body gets a little bit muddy when you get into heavy strumming and triplets. My playing style varies, but my job is leading worship. This guitar fits the bill perfectly. The 12's and 14's are better bodies for fingerpicking, but the jumbo's sound is big and full. The maple back and sides allow for a very resonant, yet balanced tone. I have no complaints with the Expression System. The guitar is bassy so you have to bring the treble up a bit, but that has more to do with the guitar body than the pickup system. The finish is pretty easy to nick, but the guitar is a work of art. the inlays are elegant and add flare to the guitar. The 600 series' wood combination is perfect for live applications. Whereas, the 800 series fits the studio well. My biggest complaint with Taylor's, in general, is the fretting. They wear much faster than the frets on Martins. Granted, I would never spend the money on an upper end Martin. Setup is everything on this guitar. A well setup 615 makes for a guitar that you never want to put down. My 615 is adjusted for mediums. Lights detract from the fullness of the sound and heavy strings give the guitar too much bass. The case is bombproof. I baby this thing, but for three grand... who wouldn't. It is definitely worth the money. I will own this guitar until one ( or both of us) kicks the bucket.

Loving my Taylor 615-CE

By j2pethel

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

Third Taylor guitar I own - and this 615-CE definitely fills any room with incredible sound. My 615-CE was custom made in El Cajon, and I toured the Taylor factory and was highly impressed with the entire operation. Concerning the guitar, the sound, tone, feel, and clarity of this guitar is outstanding. Well worth the money and Taylor only makes the best guitars!

Taylor 615 Jumbo

By Michele

from Grand Blanc, MI

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

I bought this guitar back in the early 80's. It sounds just as good now as it did when I bought it. It has never failed me and has been my best friend at times. The sound that comes out is big and robust. The action on the strings is so easy to play. I've play it in bars and all the guitarist's want to play it they all have said it plays and sounds better then theres they just can't afford it, but if you can afford it you won't go wrong. You will have a life time of joy with it!

Nothing quite like it.

By Taylor Fan

from Massachusettes

Comments about Taylor 615-CE Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2010 Model):

Taylor's have always been my first choice in acoustic guitars and after buying my second one, I can assure its worth the price. The 615 CE in particular is very nice. It has that big heavy jumbo sound while still retaining that mellow tone all Taylor's seem to have. Nothing quite like the feeling you get when you hold a Taylor. True quality.
