This Grand Symphony 12-string has tone that rings out with balance and complexity.
The Taylor 856ce Grand Symphony Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is fashioned from Indian rosewood that seems as if it was created to be on this exquisite guitar. The clarity, balance, sustain, excellent bass response, and wonderful coloration and figure are without equal. Paired with Sitka spruce, it is an unstoppable sonic combination. The Taylor 856ce Grand Symphony is adorned with mother-of-pearl 800 Series fingerboard inlays, maple binding, and an abalone rosette, and equipped with the Taylor Expression System and cutaway, this beauty has the tools to shine in any music venue.
Though you might see similarities to a Grand Auditorium, the Taylor Grand Symphony guitar is unique in both sound and shape. Significant changes in its geometry yield a deeper more piano-like bass. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist return ample volume and low-end sustain in symphony with fuller mids and balanced highs.
Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.
The finish used to create the Taylor 856ce guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Sikita Spruce top. Indian Rosewood sides and back. Ebony fretboard. Maple binding. Taylor expression system electronics.
Guitar arrived in perfect condition. Just tuned it up and played right out of the case. This is my second Taylor and they are always perfect right out of the box.
This guitar is expensive, no doubt, but worth it. The craftsmanship is superb.
I am speechless about this guitar, but I have to say something about this one. I have been playing for over 20 years and play both electric and acoustic. When I play acoustic, I mostly play 12 string. Although I have owned a Taylor 614 ce for many years, when I play acoustic it has been mostly my old Ibanez 12 string. I have been wanting to get a Taylor 12 string for some years now, but have been funding mostly my electrics.
When I got this guitar, it was tuned down for safe shipping. I tuned it up about three weeks ago and have been playing it alot since then and it has yet to go out of tune. Scott from Private Reserve picked this one out for me over the phone and it is just the most beautiful sounding acoustic I have ever played and I have played many over the years.
The clarity in each note is miraculous. Each string comes through perfectly with piano like resonance. The mids and lows are huge and the unwound strings come through without overpowering the wond strings like some 12 strings tend to do. If you can afford this model of Taylor, you will be very glad you made the investment. I am getting inspiration for writing new material everytime I pick up this guitar. It is that good. There is a quality about the tone that I just cannot describe. I am hearing things in this guitar that I never thought a guitar could produce. Amazing.
