OVERVIEW

A jumbo that dares you to strum it aggressively.

With a cutaway blazing a path to the upper registers and the Expression System opening all the tonal gates, the Taylor 815ce Jumbo acoustic guitar has a potential for music-making that is almost limitless. Sitka spruce was born to handle the heaviest strumming, yet the soundboard allows for the finest articulation and lead work.

Coupled with the Expression System, rosewood's natural sustain makes power chords interchangeable with legato riffs and a rhythm and lead instrument in one big body.
The Jumbo delivers the extra-deep resonance and volume that come with a larger sound chamber together with its own signature subtleties. Revoicing has sharpened its tonal difference from the dreadnought. With a huge presence, the 815ce is perfectly suited for aggressive strumming.

Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

Maple binding adds the perfect finishing touch. The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Taylor's are superior

By Moses-NC3FG

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've owned the best guitars of every make in my collection - but by far Taylor's are the best. My main acoustic axe is a 1998 815ce that I've owned since new. I now have a 2008 815ce that I use as a back-up on stage. I recently sold my Martin HD28 because I will never use it. Taylor guitars will help a mediocre player become better and a pro player smile.

THE BEST!

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

In the short years I've played guitar and grown somewhat professional, I've played alot of the high end acoustics such as a couple Martins, some Gibson jumbos and even an old Guild jumbo and of course, a few Taylors but this one of course was different. Back when I first played a J-200 I was blown away by how loud it was and how sweet the tone was, and I was convinced I wanted to get a jumbo, but after playing this Taylor, I'm confident that I wont need to look any longer! I mean the tone is amazing and its kinda like all those high end guitars I played were the top of the line, and then this was a step above that. Plus, the neck on this guitar feels better than any of those and I'm pretty confident I could be playing this same model when I'm old and intolorable of uncomfortable necks. I say this is an amazing guitar for anybody who is passionate enough to learn the guitar and keep learning and if you're professional and looking for a high end acoustic, just play this first, then be blown away, then get one.

Taylor 815ce Review

By Robin Hood

from now in Arkansas

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am greatly satisfied with the 815ce. It is a beautiful guitar; but most of all it a great peice of work equipment that I can use in my line of work.
I have played guitar for over 50 years now and have quite a collection of guitars including old Fenders, Gibsons, Gretchs, etc. I have a 90's Taylor 815 Jumbo that is a sweetheart for sound. However, I recently purchased an 815ce; the reason was because of the cutaway and the electronics. I couldn't believe the harmonics and the tone quality. There is nothing to compare it with; I've owned Martins, Gibson and others. I play lead using a Paul Reed Smith and an Anderson; I find more reason to try to hang on to the 815ce; there is just something about the feel of it that I don't want to put it down. There is a continuity of each string holding the sound; it is just simply amazing. Nothing like it.
Workmanship is great; sound is awesome. The electronic, (pick-ups) sound is great and offers a variety of sounds for what I do.

A Class Act

By uel

from Houston

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just bought this guitar and can say that it plays better than any of my other acoustics. Quality product with excellent tone throughout the model range. It should be for this money and it delivers straight out of the case. Unlike other acoustics I have purchased (Gibson in particular) this guitar did not need to be set-up on day 1. Shows the quality standards applied to the production cycle. I have got I feeling I will not be parting with this one for a long, long time if ever.

Best Acoustic for any type of Music

By Acoustic Pro

from North East, Maryland

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is the best Acoustic guitar I have ever played/Owned. I was looking for a new high end Professional Acoustic. I did my research and played Gibsons, Martins, and a few others. I believe the three front runners are Gibson, Martin and Taylor. I Like Taylor because they are where Martin and Gibson used to be. Taylor makes all of their components including the electronics. They create their instruments beginning at the tree. This guitar has the best sound, range, clarity and playability that makes all others behind. Sounds incredible without being plugged in. Once plugged in the sound is incredible and the expression system is without a doubt the best pickup system that makes this instrument sound incredible. you can make it sound just the way you want. I will never part with this instrument.

Comments about Taylor 815ce Cutaway Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar absolutely sings. This Jumbo has a big sustain and turns heads plugged in. I have a 814ce I'm selling. The 814 is nice, but in my opinion, does not come close to the Jumbo tonal qualities. It's beautiful too! Big Spruce top and outstanding Rosewood. I use med bass and light trebles. I couldn't be happier. I believe this will be the last guitar I'll ever buy.
