Had it for about two years, and i still love it. Over time the solid spruce top has mellowed out and the sound is sooo resonant. Every chord sounds like gold......which is where this guitar has a bit of a downfall. The sound is very bright which, as mentioned above, results in beautiful sounding chords and such. But for finger picking it really lacks the depth and warmth needed to make every note shine. This could also be due in part to the smaller body size, which ill get into later. But for strumming and nailing those epic chords, this(as is the case with all other taylors) is the perfect guitar. As far as playability goes, action on mine came right in between too low, and too high-which isnt exactly a good thing. You can pretty much forget about any kind of bending and such, but there is still quite a bit of fret buz in the higher frets. But this is nothing a few little adjustments cant take care of.Quality...hmmm....i wanna say amazing, but after about six months of use, i began to notice little hairline cracks in the fretboard. They don't affect the playability at all, but the fact that they are there is a tad questionable. Im also not too keen on the two screws that apparently hold the fretboard in place-certainly unorthodox, but sound and playability are not affected. And finally the body-it is apparently obvious that this is a small guitar, which affects the tone slightly, along with the loudness of it. It looks great-very classy-but if i was looking to buy this i would save up the extra hundred or so and get the 110-essentially the same guitar in a full size body. But i guess it all comes down to personal opinion. So if your in the market for just a no nonsense acoustic guitar that sounds good, this one is definately worth a trip to the music store. Just be sure that your okay with the smaller body, as you will either love it or hate as time goes on. But if the body size doesnt effect you, than by all means get this guitar without hesitation.

So i bought this guitar 5 months ago and it sounded great, really bright sound. It was also pretty loud for a small guitar but then one day the top began coming off the side. Now since it was still under warrenty i though I would be able to get a new one since it was a manufacturers defect however the guitar was deemed by taylor to be "dried out". I have plenty of guitars that I have had for years that have never been "dried out" so this is bull. DO NOT BUY

Big Baby Taylor

Outstanding quality for a low priced, small bodied guitar. I bought one for my daughter but every time I pick it up to check intonation and changes in neck position etc, I am so intrigued with this little guitar that i play it for hours. I'm thinking of buying one for myself for camping and travelling. I have a larrivee mahogany dreadnaught that usually does that job for me...but honestly, the baby tayor is a better guitar. If you're looking at the smaller baby taylor I would recommend spending the extra money for the big baby taylor.

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

Picked up this lovely guitar in the store just out of curiosity expecting not much from it and I ended up leaving with it. This is THE PERFECT ACOUSTIC and at a ridiculously affordable price, excellent action, sound and finish. So if you're looking for a good sounding guitar with good action and can't afford those $1,000 ones, THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!

May Be Too Picky

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

It's a nice little second guitar for the money. Nice clear tone and a straight neck. I was truly surprised at how much crowning the fret ends needed. They are clearly just "nipped" off at the factory and shipped out. I know it's only 10 or 20 minutes and a little file work but I expected the final assembly to be a little better even on one of Taylor's low end guitars. Still satisfied... Still keeping it!

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

outstanding value. Good ease of playability. Very light weight to carry. Feels great in our hands. Best uses for practice and outings with boy scouts. Has very balanced tone good but not deep base, mids are bright as are the high tones. This is the guitar I try new stuff on first, so easy to play. If you are a new student get this one. Also i installed 9on my kitchen table) a fishman matrix pick up with tone controls sounds great on several different amps.

Poorly Built

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

I own several acoustic guitars and this is the only one that has no internal bracing. I have a constant problem with this guitar's over-sensitivity to moisture. This combined with the lack of bracing results in warping. A big disappointment from Taylor guitars.

Awsome Guitar

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

My first guitar, I got it because I was more serious about starting than buying a 100 dollar yamaha, but not about to buy a guitar much more expensive. This guitar has the same sound as a mid end taylor which would be much more expensive for a body which is full size versus 15/16 size. The sound quality is awesome and the fretboard is very easy to play, its not too wide and the action is very low. My only hold up was that the guitar became dehydrated after a year and a half of owning it and the neck bent towards the body so the action was really high and the frets were buzzing out but they were able to completely fix it at my local guitar shop by putting it in a humidifier for two weeks. They also added another coat of finish which made the guitar sound even better than it did before. Now I am more responsible and I use a humidifier which hangs on the strings and into the case while Im not using the guitar. I would recommend purchasing this product to anyone who is a beginner or intermediate and it should last me for years to come.

Comments about Taylor Big Baby Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (2011 Model):

I have been playing guitar for more than 40 years and have owned a lot of guitars, but nothing compares to the all around good value, light weight and ease of play as my nine year old Big Baby, I carry it most everywhere I go in it,s gig bag and I travel a lot, I throw it around, loan it out to others at jams etc and it has never failed me. I play both bluegrass and jazz with ease. It,s only draw back is for finger picking where it does not have the full sound as some of my other guitars, but I love it,s smaller size and light weight and ease of playing and because it is so inexpensive I do not have to worry about it being stolen or damaged.
