OVERVIEW

Travel-sized guitar with plenty of depth and projection to belie its size.

There's something undeniably inviting about the Taylor GS Mini's scaled-down size, yet a single strum reveals the impressive voice of a full-size guitar. That mix of portability and musicality has proven to be a winning combination that fits into so many scenarios in life, from the couch to the campfire to the concert hall. It's not too big, it's not too precious, and it's not too expensive.

That broad-based accessibility has given it a resounding universal appeal, not to mention a built-in fun factor. The shorter 23-1/2-inch scale length makes forming chords a breeze yet gives the instrument plenty of snap and tuning stability for a rewarding playing experience. The acoustic-electric versions enjoy a sweet upgrade to ES2 electronics. All GS-Mini models include a durable hard bag built by Taylor for the optimal fit.

Tone Woods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Sitka Spruce is the most prevalent guitar top wood of the modern era. It blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions which translates into broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. Layered back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less succeptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

What sets Taylor Guitars apart? Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was a Christmas present for my son. He was looking at an acoustic guitar with electronics to play at church in the youth group. We compared this guitar to full size guitar from the same maker and other makers as well at around the same price range and twice as much as well and he always went back to the mini. It is that good and he liked the smaller size for its portability. It is not as good as the most expensive models but it can hold its own against similar priced and even twice as much.

nice size for my senior students. Some are reluctant to use a smaller guitar. Hope this guy will push them to the most appropriate guitar.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been trying to get interested in playing for a long time. I have used different guitars with the same result they were just too big and hard for me to play. This guitar is the perfect size for a short small person. I can play it for hours and not get uncomfortable. But the best part is that it still sounds just as good as a big guitar. It's loud enough, has a great tone and is very easy to play.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have the Mahogany version of this acoustic/electric GS Mini. Great sound unplugged. Good volume. Great sound plugged in also, but I have only literally plugged it in a handful of times and the pickup is not working right. And YES, I checked the battery! So now the 3 month old guitar has to go in for a repair. I absolutely baby ALL my equipment. This is the first time in 15 years that I've had to have something repaired. I have also heard from another professional musician that his Taylor pickup system has blown out 3 times in the first year. In retrospect, I could've saved the extra money and bought the one without the Taylor pickup and had a Fishman installed, or a sound hole pickup.

It's a great guitar that is easy to carry and travel with, but save your money and don't buy the one with the Taylor pickup system. If I was relying on this as my regular performing guitar because it's a plug-in, I would be up a creek without a paddle.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this to have something to take out rather than my 2k+ 10yr old Taylor. It's great because the sound is amazing in a small package. Originally I was playing through my Acoustasonic amp, but with the ES-T pickups, I switched to straight into the sound board. I go from a balanced 1/4" to XLR cable straight in to the board. The ES-T Active pickups do awesome in this mode, with great sound control. Can't go wrong with this little package!
