OVERVIEW

Travel-sized guitar with plenty of depth and projection to belie its size.

Part of a small batch of premium GS Mini models, the GS Mini-e Rosewood gives you a compact and great-looking guitar that's also ready to kick out the acoustical jams when you plug it in. Upgrades from the regular GS Mini include laminated Indian rosewood back and sides and Taylor's stage-ready ES-T acoustic electronics with onboard ES tone and volume control knobs. With the help of a solid Sitka spruce top, this Mini blends the portability of a travel-size guitar with the tonal depth and projection of a full-size guitar. Taylor's patented NT neck delivers a smooth, fun playing experience. Includes a GS Mini hard bag.

GS Mini
The award-winning GS Mini was designed to be the ultimate musical companion, wherever you go - or stay. Inspired by the big, bold sound of Taylor's GS body shape, the Mini scales things down without skimping on sound, packing a ton of tone into a comfortable travel size and giving you a guitar that's full-voiced and incredibly fun to play. Think of the Mini as a modern-day parlor guitar, perfect for playing around the house but also built to fit an active lifestyle.

Rosewood Laminate
Like sapele laminate, rosewood laminate features a plywood construction, in this case with interior and exterior layers of beautiful Indian rosewood veneer separated by a middle filler layer. Though the tonal properties of a wood laminate aren't as complex as solid wood, the construction method enables Taylor to offer attractive, durable instruments at a more inviting price. A solid spruce top and Taylor craftsmanship ensure a clear, balanced tonal response.

ES-T
The ES-T is a single-source, undersaddle transducer with individual elements for each string. It features an onboard preamp and the same active controls found on the full ES. Featuring a custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response, the system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery-life LED power indicator (which is lit when the battery is being used). The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I did not expect the great depth of tonality from this 3/4 sized guitar. It arrived in tune and has held tune for nearly 2 months. I LOVE it!

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have the Mahogany version of this acoustic/electric GS Mini. Great sound unplugged. Good volume. Great sound plugged in also, but I have only literally plugged it in a handful of times and the pickup is not working right. And YES, I checked the battery! So now the 3 month old guitar has to go in for a repair. I absolutely baby ALL my equipment. This is the first time in 15 years that I've had to have something repaired. I have also heard from another professional musician that his Taylor pickup system has blown out 3 times in the first year. In retrospect, I could've saved the extra money and bought the one without the Taylor pickup and had a Fishman installed, or a sound hole pickup.

It's a great guitar that is easy to carry and travel with, but save your money and don't buy the one with the Taylor pickup system. If I was relying on this as my regular performing guitar because it's a plug-in, I would be up a creek without a paddle.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this to have something to take out rather than my 2k+ 10yr old Taylor. It's great because the sound is amazing in a small package. Originally I was playing through my Acoustasonic amp, but with the ES-T pickups, I switched to straight into the sound board. I go from a balanced 1/4" to XLR cable straight in to the board. The ES-T Active pickups do awesome in this mode, with great sound control. Can't go wrong with this little package!
