Designed to be the ultimate musical companion, wherever you go — or stay.

From the couch to the campfire to the concert hall, the GS Mini promises big fun for everyone. Inspired by the big, bold sound of Taylor's award-winning GS body shape, the GS Mini scales things down without skimping on sound, packing a lot of tone into a comfortable, portable size and giving you a guitar that's incredibly fun to play. With Taylor's patented straight and stable NT neck, you'll always enjoy signature Taylor intonation and playability. So, wherever you end up, whether you're on tour or on the porch, the GS Mini is always ready to play.

The GS Mini truly sounds like a full-size guitar, and it's not just the volume you'll notice when you strum your 1st chord, but also the depth and richness of tone. The Mini acoustic has a deeper body, a bigger top, and a longer scale than a Baby Taylor. The tone is also enhanced by a full-sized 4"-diameter soundhole and a braceless arched back. The Mini also has the look of a "real" guitar with an inlaid rosette, pickguard, and inlaid purfling lines in the top. Its ultra-portable size makes it a great travel guitar. You can even put it in the overhead compartment of a plane. The Mini also makes an inspiring student guitar for smaller-sized musicians. Comes with a GS Mini hard bag.

    Great guitar

    Features:

Notice I didn't title this "Great Little Guitar". The only thing that's little is the size because this instrument makes a BIG SOUND. After I first played it I had to look at it to believe it. This sounds like a full-size guitar. It plays very well and it could serve as an "only" guitar for a lot of people. It's very simple, no frills, the gig bag is very adequate and durable. I saw one in a local guitar store last year and buying one was on my "Bucket List". I got it and love it, my second Taylor.

    Quality:

Taylor makes quality stuff and this guitar is close to terrific.

    Value:

It's not cheap but it's not expensive either. Wait for a deal and get one.

    Overall:

Affordable, durable, plays great, sounds great, looks great...it's a Taylor.

    Very Loud!!

    Features:

Pretty simple little machine, but does have the option of the pick-up that's designed just for this guitar.

    Quality:

Excellent guitar and Taylor fine quality. I have had mine for almost a year and other than normal wear and tear, have seen no problems.

    Value:

Decent value for the money spent.

    Overall:

I couldn't ask for a better travel-sized guitar. When I first picked one up, I couldn't believe the amount of sound coming out if it.  This thing is very loud!  I was very surprised considering the mini has laminate back and sides, but with the 4" sound hole and back that's bowed slightly out words, it has no problem at all projecting. I chose to install the pickup for this guitar and it sounds excellent plugged in as well.  The semi-rigid case is top notch as well. The guitar fits like a glove and has plenty of room in the accessory pouch. I would reccomend this to anyone!

    Just a great guitar....

    Features:

No big deal here...especially for the price.  The mini comes with plastic bridge pins and chrome tuners.  Plastic is used, I believe, in the headstock and other places where that is not critical. The guitar is laminated and usually I buy all solid woods.

However, where it counts...the mini shines....ebony fingerboard and bridge.  Solid sitka spruce top and x-bracing.

Mine came with bearclaw top!  A little bonus a luthier might charge a bit extra for.

    Quality:

Only slight niggles here.  A bit of very tiny wood slivers around where the neck joins the body.  Otherwise the fit and finish is very good.  The setup was very good right out of the box...string height was very playable...and I'm picky on this.

    Value:

    Excellent value.

    Overall:

I've played this guitar almost daily now for 4 months. I'd rate this guitar a 10 but I don't rate anything a 10...just my thing.

I've owned(still own four) 9 Taylor guitars; 300 - 800 series.  I've owned other high end accoustics to include Martin, Goodall and others.

In my opinion, my little Mini comes very close in tone and playability with any of the guitars I've owned...regardless of price.

Due it's great sound, and convenient size, it's the first guitar I grab now when I'm practicing or just jamming at home.

I have used the guitar out gigging when plugged in.  I added the easy go pickup and the sound is very good through my PA systems.

The only reason I don't use my Mini all the time gigging is that it has slightly less volume than my dreadnaught or X14 style guitars when not plugged in or played using a mike.

If you are a gigging musician, and you play out unamplified...this little sweetheart may not have enough volume.  If you plug it in or play though a mike...it's great.

I highly recommend this guitar....just excellent.

    GS Mini

    Features:

This is a terrific guitar with incredible sound for small body guitar.

Basic chords in the first position are very easy to reach but as you move up the neck you can certainly tell there is not as much room. But a great guitar for sitting on the couch with.

    Quality:

Although I did buy a "used guitar"- a better job describing the color variation on the Ebony fret

board could have been done. It is a cosmetic blemish only, but was not described at all.

    My new GS Mini

    | Review By: Deborah Garrison | 3 months, 3 weeks ago

    Features:

I love the small neck and body on my new GS Mini. Perfect for someone with small hands and easy handling for a lady or even for a youth or child.

    Quality:

You can feel the quality in the finish! Beautiful wood grain with smooth body surface.

    Value:

This guitar was at the top of my budget when shopping for a guitar. I could have purchased several other brands for 1/4 of the cost, but strumming one chord on my GS Mini I knew I wouldn't be happy with any other! I don't think I will regret the price. The value will never go DOWN so I know it was a smart purchase.

    Overall:

I have a couple other brand guitars and after playing a few songs my hands would be sore and tired. A friend let me play his taylor one evening and I was amazed at the comfort!

One of my disappointments was when I read the label inside my guitar and saw that it was made in Mexico.  I didn't notice it before I bought it and one of the drawing features for me was that Taylors were American made.

The sound quality is unusually rich and full. Mine is wired for a plug-in pickup but to me, there is no reason to amplify it because it has an already full and amplified sound naturally.

It doesn't look like a 'toy' guitar.
