OVERVIEW

A vintage-style jazz box with a carved solid top and single P-90.

The LH-309 archtop is the perfect blend of vintage vibe and modern value. The LH-309's top is hand-carved and hand-graduated solid Spruce. The Loar have carefully placed their own P-90 pickup in the perfect spot for optimal tone. The classic high output and articulate treble response of the P-90 is the ideal complement to the spruce top and maple back and sides, excellent for either rhythm or lead playing.

With a 16" lower bout and a classic 24-3/4" scale, the LH-309 is a nod to original Golden Age archtop designs.

Case sold separately.

Comments about The Loar LH-309 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I am extremely pleased with this guitar. Someone returned it so I bought it as a mint condition used and it was definitely mint. Gorgeous fit and finish. I have a collection of arch top guitars... Gibson and Guilds but nothing with a carved top. The carved top gives it a bright, clear and projecting tone when played acoustically. I've always wanted a carved top, single pick up and non cutaway. Plugged in through one of my Fender amps the tone is warm and clean. The neck is a medium size with a soft V shape. Not sure if I was going to like the V neck but it is very comfortable. Definitely a keeper!!! The case that I bought fits it perfectly. It is a Gretch G6241 FT 16" hollow body case. The body shape and dementionsis are the same as my 1964 Gibson ES 175. minus the cut away.

Comments about The Loar LH-309 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I ordered this from the "open box" side of MF. When I got the package(quickly, I must add), the guitar that was sent was an LH-319, not the LH-309, even though the inside label says LH-309.It is well worth the money I paid, and I'll be playing it for a long time. I also bought a Fender FR-25 amp(elsewhere) and this thing sounds really good plugged in too! Brings back memories
      of my younger days.

Comments about The Loar LH-309 Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Got this guitar for playing shows around at coffeehouses and bars, though i also played at the shanghai beer festival, and it was totally sufficient for that. Really a great, slim guitar with a good sound. I have thought a few times of replacing the pickup - not that it's bad at all, but i definitely feel it doesn't accurately capture the tone of the guitar itself. If I were to record with this guitar, I would use a mic instead of the pickup. That said, I love it.

Compared to other acoustic guitars I've played, this is by far the best, barring only a 1k$+ Martin a friend of mine has.
