Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Classical Nylon-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great little guitar for practicing while traveling, but I wouldn't use it for a performance until the company works out a few of its issues. Recommend it with caveats.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Classical Nylon-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Aluminium Head Piece has to be modified. The fix is very simple. 1) Remove the Aluminium Head Piece. 2) Bevel the edges of the string holes on both sides. A large drill bit will do. 3) Round the top edges, both sides, of the Aluminium Head Piece. You're done! Reassemble!

Great intentions held back by severe design flaws.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Classical Nylon-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was initially very pleased with this guitar, but was unable to fix some issues that came with it out of the box, and other design flaws presented themselves.

    Pros:

Small, lightweight, no feedback, good pre-amp, good materials, and overall good workmanship. Comes with a nice little case.

    Cons:

    1) The aluminum end-cap where the headstock should be causes the treble strings to shred and break. This is a design issue - aluminum is harder than nylon and the edges are machined very sharp. I never break strings on my other guitars, but my high will snap while tuning up using any brand besides D'addario. This makes the guitar unreliable for performance.

    2) The string volume is uneven across the strings, with the bass strings sounding loud and the treble strings sounding very very quiet. Setup has not solved this issue, nor has filing the bridge to be flat.

    3) The added string length that comes from the tuner placement (where the strings go over the back and then into tuners beneath the guitar) makes it very difficult to restring and makes the use of certain brands of strings utterly impossible. I prefer to use Savarez with all my guitars, but they do not reach the tuning pegs. Other brands, such as Galli, suffer the same fate. So leaves me using D'addario, which I do not prefer on my classical guitars.

I really wanted to use this as a performance solution, but unfortunately this is not ideal for classical use. This guitar will unfortunately be relegated to being a practice guitar on the plane. A very big waste of potential.
