You buy it for engineering of the design

I treat it as a use it and carry around, always ready to use, guitar. I'm not sure if the mahogany versions of the Escape EG-1 are any better but, despite the clean look, there is a small feeling of cheapness to the guitar with some pits in the wood and the screws are a little loose in the softer wood. I wish there were a second pickup and that the built in amp was a little cleaner. That somewhat slightly negative criticism being said about it, I still rate this guitar overall as a 4.0 due mostly to its design, usability, and being the best design in travel ready guitar. I'm enjoying it.
