Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

This travel guitar is solidly built and since I favor electric string gauges like 010 it functions beautifully with that gauge. The neck is a tad wider than my telecaster's but that doesn't seem to affect practice and playability. My one concern which may seem stupid is that I"m not sure what kind of headphone jack output is built into it. Yes,I know it's 1/4 inch. Is it stereo? If not then what? mono headphones?some kind kind of adapter/ I"m busy at many things so I haven't had time to figure this out and I just wanted to know the official answer but I failed to see one. Otherwise this is a beautiful little instrument and perfect for traveling, maybe even actual performing.

        Traveler Guitar

        By wayne bemis

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

a bit pricey but not a great risk for the money
The description inexplicably says "Acoustic-Electric" Travel Guitar. There is no acoustic element to this solid-body guitar. It is small and light and has a good feel to it for a practice/travel insturment, i like it a lot.
seems to be well built and user-friendly

        Amazing!

        By Tristan Ward

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

This guitar is simply amazing. I rotate from day shift to night shift every 2 weeks and I needed a guitar that I could play during the wee hours of the morning without waking my wife or newborn baby. This guitar fits my needs perfectly!

The full length neck is incredibly easy to play (almost as easy as an electric guitar). It has fantastic sound! Way better than I expected! I mainly play this guitar with my Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones (which I highly recommend) and the sound is just superb. The guitar also sounds great through my Fender Acoustic amp.

The guitar is small and I have to use a strap to comfortably play it, but I became accustomed to it pretty quickly. I did not purchase the guitar to travel with, however it is very small and could easily fit as a carry on item while flying. I love the way this guitar looks! I've gotten many compliments on it and one of my friends has even purchased one after trying mine.

I find myself playing it more than my Martin "Eric Clapton Signature" 000 acoustic and my Ovation Legend acoustic/electric which are both much more expensive guitars. I've been playing this guitar more than those, because it makes very little sound. Meaning I can sit on the couch and play while the wife and I watch a movie, without bothering her! Don't get confused by this statement. The guitar produces plenty of sound through headphones or an amp, but the non amplified sound (sound simply produced by the vibrations of the guitar strings without it being plugged in) is very quiet.

I don't think you could go wrong with any model of this guitar.I was originally going to purchase the "Pro Series" model, because of the built in amp and the cool stethephone feature. However, I changed my mind because if I wanted an amp, I could simply plug it into an actual amp. Also, even though the stethephone idea is very cool, stethescopes are not very comfortable for long periods of time. I contacted the actual Traveler Guitar company and talked to them about the stethephone and they flat out told me it was the same thing as a normal doctor/nurse/EMT stethescope. They even recommended purchasing a more expensive stethescope to use. Needless to say, I decided to go with the Escape (almost the MK-II) and use a nice pair of headphones.

On a final note, I would just like to say that I wish I had purchased this guitar 2 years ago when I originally discovered it. I've been able to practice 3 times more than usual by having this guitar and I would recommend it to any serious guitar player.
Perfect for use with headphones. I recommend the Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones (or something similar), but any headphones will do. You can adjust the Treble/Bass and Volume. Comes with the 2 knobs for attaching a strap.
The guitar seems to be made very well. The wood is beautiful and the sound is great. Lightweight, but not too lightweight. The guitar is very solid.
For the money, it would be hard to beat this guitar. Great quality, great sound, great portability, easy to play, easy to transport, perfect! I have heard it can be a pain to re-string, but I have not tried that yet.

        Excellent travel guitar and more

        By Roland-eBT2W

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

I read the reviews in Jan 09 after disappoitments with an Ovation travel guitar and a Martin backpacker. And, aircraft restrictions are making it real hard to travel with a regular guitar -- even if it has a smaller body. I got this little gem and think it's great. It's a tad heavy on the base but it's adjustable, but the quality is excellent, sound is much better than I would have expected, and it's easy to tune/maintain. I ignore the ear buds and put a regular decent set of earphones with it. With a puny Crate amp, this thing produces a lot of sound that is clear and undistorted. It's got my vote.

This guitar is compact, and if you can connect it to the amplifer the sound is amazing. I plan to use it for worship in Church

        Really nice, Really small

        By Music Man-OszEd

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

Traveler Escape Steel String Acoustic-Electric Travel GuitarI have played the electric bass and banjo for 15 years and only recently picked up the guitar to learn it.This guitar has a nice clean sound when played through the headphones, I have not even used to headphones that came with the guitar, I use my Sure Ec2 earbuds and the built in amp on the guitar will power them even when set on the amp setting, however, on the headphone setting it has a bit louder and seems to be clearer sound. When played through a Crate acoustic guitar amp it was impossible for me to distinguish it from my buddies $500 Alvarez full body acoustic. The built in EQ is limited but it allows for fairly decent tone control. when playing it not plugged in to headphones or an amp, it feels great, but with no sound box it is very quiet aside from string noise. The action is a light action, no buzzing on the frets, honestly, to me it plays like my brothers $1200 Takamine. This guitar has an acoustic action, it is not an electric action. The one thing I dislike about this guitar is also the reason I bought it, the size, with no soundbox, it is a bit hard to control the position of the guitar. I travel a lot, so it was still worth it to me.

        Value, Size, Sound and Portability

        By JOYIV

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape Steel-String Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar:

I have a Speedster and now an Escape. The size and ease of holding and playing it make me forget it is not a full size acoustic or electric. I do heaps of flying and it goes and fits everywhere. Smooth action and the neck is like butter. It doesn't matter if you use an amp or the included headphones (nice touch) the sound is clean, clear and punchy. This product is great value and everyone should have one.
