I had been shopping for a travel-worthy guitar after seeing my $$$ strat case take beating after beating, even in the airlines' Fragile luggage service. (I think that they give the fragile cases an extra toss just for fun.:-))

The guitar is compact, and you don't even get a blink from the people at airport security, as you nonchalantly drop the tennis-racket shaped soft case onto the belt. The Traveler has a great sound, and really nice touch and response. Sustain is quite good, as well, considering the small amount of solid body the guitar has to work with.

I use a Boss 4-track Micro-BR to practice with when I travel. I just got an iRig, and it seems to work just great with that, too.

I've used this guitar in Open Mic events around the world, and it's a blast to see people's eyes and watch them mouth "WTFrick is that?" It's a great guitar for gigs, too, when you want to whip out a slide and do your best Robert Johnson.

All in all, a great practice / gigging guitar. I highly recommend it for any who travel or who want something a little different.

Caveats: You will need to clip the strings close to the tuning pegs, otherwise you will get poked.

You may never read this review. I rarely see a two star left. However, I was seriously considering purchasing this guitar until I went to the local Gmusic store and played it. Within five minutes the pickup had went out. It was the only one they had in stock and the sales rep said they were constantly having problems with it.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

started back jamming with the band since my accident and was having a hard time playing and balancing myself in my wheelchair as a regualar length guitar would throw me off balance, was searching on here and found this and a wireless setup(pain running over cable) and was I surprised, this thing feels great, sounds great and looks great. Couldn't be happier with this buy,I would have been happy to just have something that I could comfortably play but this thing surpassed all expectations. I would highly recommend this unit.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

I picked up a Speedster as I am traveling more and didn't want to lose practice time.

This guitar will fit into the overhead bin of an airplane, but is too long to fit under your seat. Mine has come through four flights without a scratch.

The tone is pretty good - I pair it with a Vox Amplug and phones. The neck is quite playable with a comfortable feel. The tuners are built into the body and take some getting used to.

Overall, the Speedster is a worthy addition to my collection serves its intended use quite well.

This little guy is awesome! I slapped some .14 - .68 strings on there for a challenging practice. Now I can practice everywhere - on the bus, at school, on my break at work, I feel like my time is never wasted now. It looks, feels and even sounds good. Best impulse buy I've ever made.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

I have owned about a dozen guitars over the years and at first I was a bit taken aback by the high price of this 'travel' guitar. Well, you get what you pay for!

Out of all the guitars I have owned this is the first one I received where I was unable to detect any flaws and found it to be perfectly setup and intonated on arrival. I personally found the detachable armrest piece unnecessary once I got used to not having an anchor point for my hand/arm.

The action was perfect! Nice and low with no fret buzz anywhere along the neck unless I just simply fretted way too far back. Surprised that with such low action I had less issue with buzz on this guitar than on my higher action guitars.

A beautifully painted solid piece of wood (neck and body are 1 piece). The pickup puts out excellent tone and I love the style and feel of the control knobs.

I have only 2 minor gripes, and in the grand scheme of the overall quality of this instrument, these really are minor. First one is that when you play without the optional armrest the rear strap pin is a bolt that sticks out way too far and loosens easily. It's not a big issue but I wish an extra strap pin that matches the one on the front and could be swapped out had been included. The second issue is I wish the hanging strap were detachable. It is connected to the guitar by what appears to be an industrial strength zip tie. I love hanging the guitar from a robe hook I picked up at Home Depot, but wish I was able to remove the strap for when I really want to show of the great look of this guitar.

Overall, 5 stars, perfect travel guitar.... lol, forget that... this is my MAIN guitar now!

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because I wanted to have something to play while on travel with work. I keep it in my car and now play every day for 30 minutes at lunch time. It is perfect. I actually like playing it without a headphone amp because it actually has a nice tone to it in a very quiet setting. A great practice tool. The portability is a dream to travel with. The pickup is OK for what it is, you certainly pull off a small gig in a pinch with this guitar. My main axe is a PRS 513, so that is my reference point. It has a nicer neck and action than my Standard USA Stratocaster - true! Use this guitar to play during travel, family visits out of town, during breaks at work, whatever - it is just convenient to use any time with no hassle. I use it to learn songs with a headphone guitar trainer and it saves me a lot of time. I bought it used for a bit off the price but in hindsight clearly worth the price of entry. There is nothing I would change about this guitar, it is indeed a perfect travel electric guitar.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

How often do you hear people ask, "What is a good guitar for a beginner?" The best answer is a Traveler guitar. If you're not a beginner and just want to get better, this is a great guitar for you.

What is the main thing you need to get better? Practice! And what do you need to practice? A guitar in your hands.

That is what this guitar give you. It is so small and compact, you can take it EVERYWHERE!! I keep mine with me in my car, take it to work, practice it on breaks, travel with it, take it on planes. By having the guitar with me at all times, it allows me to practice ALL THE TIME!

It's also nice when I'm sitting in a smaller space, or sitting next to someone because there is no headstock to knock things over or bump somebody with. I can even play it in bed at night without hitting my wife's head with the headstock.

Bottom line. It's a must have for any guitar player. Much easier than carrying a Les Paul or a Strat everywhere.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

My wife bought me the red one for Christmas. I travel with it every week and play it in the hotel room. I use Bose headphones and a mini-Marshall battery powered amp. It is bad to the bone right out of the box. I haven't made one adjustment to it. It really sounds good cranked. Clean sound is hard to get through this little amp, but even plugged into my Fender Super Reverb it won't get real clean. That is the only negative. I love the compact size and light weight. The neck for this small and cheap guitar is very playable. When I get home I love pulling out the Les Paul, but for travel and hotel jamming this thing is hard to be. The finish and detail work is amazingly first rate.

                Gig bag is terrible

                By Pascal_h

                from Virginia

Comments about Traveler Guitar Speedster Travel Electric Guitar:

I live traveling. I'm on the road sometimes one week per month, sometimes more or less, and I just bought this guitar about 2 months ago. It's a great guitar for what it is, but what is really frustrating is: THE GIG BAG SUCKS!!!!! Come on, guys...does anybody who built this thing actually travel? The shoulder strap always loosens as you're walking, and wants to fall off your shoulder all the time. It's unusable. Also, the bag doesn't have protection in the key areas (like at the ends, or along the neck) and the guitar takes a lot of dings that it shouldn't. The bag should be more rigid, and able to stand on its end, and have plastic shin-guard-like protectors along the neck. The bag strap should have some rubber and padding and not slip off your body. Oh yeah: AND I don't want to pay a huge amount extra for that. If you have any pride at all in your product, you'll call the REI guys and figure out how to make a bag that someone who travels a lot can actually use.
