Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
I am very pleased with this guitar. It is balanced and comfortable to play. I like the variety of sounds that you can get from the pickups. The action and the set up is good and there are no harp edges on the frets.
I have the vintage cream which looks OK. I also have the Vox SDS33 in tea burst which looks better. SDS33 is a bit neck heavy and not as comfortable as this guitar.
It comes with a very good gig bag.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
First impressions - I got the Blackburst, which had a somewhat green tint to the wood grain area. It doesn't look bad, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting. The frets were incredibly sharp, definitely not what I expect from a guitar that claims their 1K MSRP. My daughter's very cheap Rouge wasn't this bad. I didn't have anything to file them (ALL of them) down with the first day I got it and had pretty good scratches on my hand after an hour or so.
Other than that it is a nice guitar. VERY comfortable contour on the backside. The pickups/tone seem to sound better and have more variation int he controls at higher volumes IMO.
Overall, I would consider it a viable option against entry Fenders and Gibsons.
I gave it 4 stars considering its reg price. I would give it 5 at the sale price.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
I'm very pleased with the Vox SSC33. I'm on a tight budget, but need quality. This guitar provides for that.
The sound is unique, yet reminiscent of a Telecaster or Les Paul. The feel of the VOX is solid and comfortable. It also has a beautiful look. The "natural cream" finish however, is not as it appears on line. Its more of a yellow/amber color(which I prefer). The knobs and hardware are solid and smooth. The gig bag that comes with is also well-made.
I shopped around for quite a while before buying the Vox. I don't think there is anything out there that exceeds the SSC33's value-to-quality ratio.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
Fit and finish are excellent for an import in this price range. There was a tiny little bit of glue on the fretboard-side of the nut, but it came off easily.
For the low price, this is the best buy I've made. It's got it's own sound--the pickups do not sound like traditional single coils, P-90s, or humbuckers. They are very unique. While the differences between the two settings aren't huge, they do give you some flexibility. If you use your volume control to manage your gain, you'll now have a toggle switch to mix in, as the fuller setting does push the amp a little more than the "single coil" setting.
Great guitar and a great buy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
I picked up this guitar a few weeks ago after shopping around for quite some time. While I was in the store I played many other guitars including Epiphones, Fenders, Squiers, Ibanez, and a few others in the price range and here's what I found:
THIS THING IS SWEET.
lets start with looks:
I bought the "teaburst" edition with a beautifully matched 3 piece ash top. The finish is nice and although its only a set neck, it LOOKS like a neck-through; a major plus in my book. Nice binding around the body too (although it just randomly cuts off at the neck, maybe neck binding too VOX?).
The tuners are unique and hold a decent tune, not horrible nor spectacular. Just average tuners with interesting looking pegs.
Playability:
Out of the box the guitar was very well set up. It took a little tweaking to get the intonation just right, but definitely playable straight out of the box (YMMV).
The neck is fast and comfortable, frets were dressed nicely. (I'd personally prefer larger frets on this guitar, but I'm not considering them a negative aspect).
Bridge seems a little cheap but I like the design. Again, no complaints there.
Tone:
This is where I'm torn. The Coaxe pickups are nice, but leave something to be desired at lower volumes. The tone is crisp and clean (run through a Fender Blues Jr.) with a bright, snappy response (don't worry, there's plenty of low end too). The switch to activate the outer blades is a neat feature, but really only at clean, higher volumes. Bedroom guitarists may not be able to enjoy the subtle versatility of the pick ups, but if you can crank your volume a bit, they do offer an interesting tonal variety.
Overall:
If you're looking for the Les Paul look with out the expensive price tag or a nice P90 equipped guitar with a little extra umph then this is your guitar. Heck, even if you're looking to upgrade from your first guitar or even second or third I would still suggest this guitar. A great addition to any arsenal, especially if you're a versatile player.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
Actually, I am a fanatic of Gibson LP guitar. I Have considered that Gibson are the best guitars ever by his quality, design and overall the sound.
Now, the VOX SSC33. I saw it the first time at the normal price and it called my attention, but no enough money to get it. My actual guitar is a Les paul 60's with p-90's and is a Fantastic guitar like every Gibson guitar, I love her. I was looking for a back up guitar of aprox. like epiphone cost or in that average. No too expensive, just a back up guitar. I had seen the SSC33 at a higher price, but one day this was in deal-offer. I bought it because the shape is similar to a LP and the pickups called my attention.
When I got it, I plugged it in my AC15. The sound is so great, totally clear, every note is alive, warm sound, the bass is surronding and the middle and trebble so smooth. The COAXE pickups change to Clean (like a middle point into a P-90 and a Single coil)and Lead (like a middle point into a P-90 and a Humbucker). Now I understand why it has been called 33 guitars. My Gisbon LP 60's is Really JEALOUS. The SSc33 neck is slim and so confortable.
The SSC33 is heavy like a LP. The other features of the SSC33 are equal of good.
The finish, the electronics, the shape, the tuners are like a guitar of gibson or more.
The only thing that is no too good is that the SSC33 does not fit in a LP hard Case. The SSC33 is little bit longer in the head. If you want a case for the SSC33, maybe this is not going to be easy. Any way, the bag-soft case tha comes with the guitar is pretty good.
And I got it for less than the half of the fist price. I AM SO HAPPY with SSC33.

I was disappointed with this piece. Not the price really, but the color was banana yellow (very different from the pictures on website) and finish is thick acrylic, not woody at all. Just feels cheap.

Comments about Vox SSC33 Single-Cutaway Solidbody Electric Guitar:
This guitar plays and feels great. I really like its neck width and length--it's not short like most single cut guitars. The pickups are NOT as versatile as they describe. You can't get a true single coil sound from the pick up, actually, no single coil sound at all. Its 2-way switch is not a coil tap, but a series/parallel option. As the pickups don't sound good either way, and their cavity are for a P-90's, I will probably replace them for a pair of Gibson P-90's.
