Meticulous craftsmanship, extremely versatile playability.
The Virage DC is a solid wood semi-hollowbody guitar that features Integral Tonebar construction that keeps feedback at bay and yields the warm, singing resonance of a semi-hollow instrument with the focused attack of a solidbody. A custom, hand-carved neck joint with an inverse heel offers greatly enhanced upper fret access and comfort in the highest registers.
Innovative features include an ergonomically curved bodies, contoured both along its length and across its width. This unique curvature hugs close to the player, and, when combined with the guitars' slightly smaller than typical body size and their arched-top profile, affords a comfortable right arm playing position unlike previous semi-hollow offerings, as well as overall unprecedented playing comfort. The result is a guitar that fits perfectly whether the guitarist is sitting or standing.
The Virage DC employs the proprietary VOX Three-90 Pickup System, which relies on two triple-coil pickups to deliver clean, crunch and lead tones, similar to having single coil, P-90 and humbucking-style versatility all in one instrument. Its analog circuitry requires no batteries or active electronics, and provides hum free operation regardless of the tone selected. This pickup system was designed and built in the USA exclusively for VOX by DiMarzio. A three-way toggle makes selecting pickups quick and easy. Users can jump between clean, crunch and lead modes independently for each pickup with a quick flick of each pickup's 3-way mode switch.
The specially designed VOX Full Contact aluminum bridge provides thick, rich tone with clear harmonics. Extended saddle travel ensures perfect intonation for any gauge string. String loading from the back edge of the bridge enables quick and effortless string changes.

Vox is known for their amps and the Tear-Drop guitar that Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones played. It has been a long time coming for this Virage Guitar and has been worth the wait. Why?The pickups in unison with the toggle switches allow super clean tones, jazz tones, blues tones along with the Les Paul and Strat tones. That is just the start. The action on this guitar is low and smooth with no buzz at all. The action with the feel of the neck allows one to play and not miss a note. This guitar allows you to play without thinking. Played through a 65 amp Soho model at low volumes you can coax a tube screamer overdrive sound without the pedal. With a flick of a toggle switch you have a super clean sound. I played the Jet Black model for an hour and a half concluding this the easiest playing, best sounding guitar, semi-hollow or solid body ever made. The workmanship is immaculate. Try to see the wiring inside the f hole and none is visible. There was not a flaw on the body, neck, binding or any of the hardware. Plus, with multiple bending of notes on all strings trying to get the guitar out of tune was fruitless. It was not possible. This is my next guitar purchase with the intent of never having to buy another guitar, unless it is another Virage for a backup (which is not needed unless something happens to this one). The following purchase will be the 65 amp Soho model. The combination of the two cannot be beaten. Buy this guitar and or try this guitar. You will find this review fails in communicating on how great this guitar is. You will only realize how great it is by playing this long awaited guitar. Get it. You cannot and will not be disappointed.
These Vox guitars are simply stunning. They have some of the most flawless build quality I've seen, easily on par with PRS. The hardware is all newly designed, and is incredibly ergonomic, lightweight and toneful. The pickups, designed and made by Dimzario, are absolutely incredible. They have 3 modes, which take you from sparkly single-coil sounds, to crunchy P-90, sweet PAF's and even a hotter humbucker sound for solos and riffs. These guitars have a very open, rich and complex sound. They have lots of sustain, but never sound muddy. They play wonderfully and are so comfortable and lightweight that you can play these guitars for hours and hours with no problem. The heel design allows you full access to every fret without any intrusions, and every note rings out with clarity, balance and tone.Overall, these guitars are incredible, and would be an excellent choice for any blues, rock, country or jazz musician. They can get wonderful Gibson-types sounds, but also some Gretsch twang and clarity.Rich Lasner and his team have created an innovative guitar, that still looks and sounds classic. And while they feel familiar to classic guitars, they are actually far more ergonomic and comfortable to play and hold.Definitely try one of these Vox guitars out if you're in the market for a high-end, versatile and great sounding guitar.
Immaculate build quality worth every cent of it's price. Mine came very playable out of box...no adjustments required at all. The pallet of tones available makes this a guitar for all seasons and genres. The ease of access to these tones by just simply flicking a switch to configure and combine pups can't be beaten. And once that is done, minor but effective tonal variations from simple 2 knob tone and volume option sure beats the 4 knob options out there. Solid wood construction all through and the ergonomic fit just blows away the competition. This one is definitely a keeper....and maybe my last purchase.....wife will be happy...ha ha.
Absolutely love this guitar. I've been eyeing (sp?) a Gibson 345 for some time and have been saving up for it. Saw this one hanging in a local shop and was urged to try it out. Immediately noticed that it was extremely comfortable...then later realized why after studying the quality and how it is built (which is also outstanding). I saw the price and was ready to buy this thing on the spot even though I really wasnt shopping that day...then realized I missed another 9 which immediately through it out of my "come home safe" range. The versitility is awesome and certainly competes with the 345 in my mind, it's increased comfort and ease of playing (and lower price) may actually put it on top! Very impressed, wish my skills could justify affording it right now! Worth checking out if you can find one.
