No guitarist should have to stress out about traveling, but there's no denying that a typical guitar is not always the easiest piece of luggage to carry around. We don't want to leave our instruments at the mercy of unreliable baggage handlers or have them taking up all of the space in our trunks, let alone the hassle involved in taking them along for an all-day excursion on foot. This is where Voyage-Air Guitar comes in, offering a selection of travel-friendly guitars that wipe away all the obstacles to portability. The question you ask yourself with a Voyage-Air guitar is no longer "where can I take it?" It's "where do I want to go?" These are the first guitars ever built that fold in half to transport. That means you don't have to settle for a tiny instrument like most travel guitars. Instead, you get a full-sized guitar that folds to fit into a backpack which you can wear hiking or cycling. They're easy to stash in an overhead airline compartment for long-distance travel as well.
Most of Voyage-Air's guitars are acoustic, which perfectly suits their outdoor-friendly backpack portability since you won't need an amplifier to play them around the campfire or at the cottage. If you're a beginner, check out the VAMD-02 and VAOM-02. Or, for something more pro-oriented, take a look at the Premier series. All of these guitars are built with Voyage-Air's special hinge mechanism, which allows the guitar to fold up, travel, and pop back open without falling out of tune. For the rockers among us, Voyage-Air has also come up with a version of the hinge that allows them to make electric guitars such as their TransAxe Telair VET-2. The Telair's case even has room for a laptop and other odds and ends, making it pretty much the ultimate carry-on for a guitarist.
Traveling with a guitar used to be a headache. Thanks to Voyage-Air, things have definitely changed. The concept of a foldable guitar seems simple, but no one has been able to pull it off successfully until now. Artists like John Oates, Brad Paisley and Willie Nelson have begun to take notice and add Voyage-Air instruments to their collections. If you like to travel, you should certainly think about adding your name to that list.
