I've been singing and/or playing for 30+ years. I received the guitar yesterday, took it out of the box last night at 8pm, tuned it, and was going to play for about an hour. When I looked up at the clock it was 11pm and time to call it a night. Need I say more? I own another Washburn D series guitar that cost much more than this one, and quite frankly, this guitar holds its own. This is a very nice instrument for the money, buy it. The stock strings actually sounded good, no buzz, that was a nice surprise. I usually don't bother with them and change them right away. As a matter of fact, I bought a couple of sets of Martins with the instrument, but I think I'll just put them in reserve for now. I was very impressed with the sound the instrument produces, very full, clear crisp highs, full warm lows. This type of sound is what you expect from a much more expensive guitar.
I bought this guitar to play, and leave at Church for others to play. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an instrument that is going to be used, and likely banged up a bit, but I wanted some quality for beginners (mostly kids) so they wouldn't get discouraged trying to learn to learn on a guitar that has no playability. This guitar will be perfect for that. Nice job as usual Washburn!
Consistant with other Washburn D Series Guitars. I especially like the flatter than most fret board, and the lower positioning of the strings as it relates to playability.
Very good quality material, fit and finish for an instrument in this price range. The instrument is very appealing to the eye, and the sound is right with crisp clear highs, and warm full lows, consistent with other more expensive Washburn D Series guitars that I own.
Great price for an instrument of this quality. It could be sold for much more, but we've come to expect this kind of value.

As others have mentioned, pretty to look at. A little frustrated by the quality of the tuning machines and the overall buzz I get from the sound. One of the tuning machines broke and I ended up replacing the whole bunch of them with Grovers. Stays in tune a whole lot better with the Grovers. I still have not been able to pinpoint the buzz.

AMAZING

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is amazing. I thought it was gonna be another beat around guitar and it is, just a really really goooooood beat around guitar. It's better than my non-beat around guitar! Looks amazing, sounds even better! Delivered EXTREMELY fast and strings aren't too high. Only drawback i can think of is that it only has one tuner at the end of the guitar, but other than that. . best guitar i own!!

Great potential

By Ear2thaground

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

I'm currently deployed, and I needed an inexpensive guitar sent to me because there was no way I was having my Taylor shipped to me. The Washburn D100DL has a very warm tone to it, but it's very hard to enjoy playing this guitar with the huge amount of buzzing. I play a lot of different styles of music, and I do a lot of finger picking. The buzz was so bad that I just quit playing. The saddle and the bridge pins are plastic, which caused the buzzing (well the saddle caused it), so I decided to replace both the saddle and bridge pins. I would highly recommend ordering a new saddle and bridge pins if you decide to purchase this guitar. Now that I have upgraded the saddle and bridge pins, I'm in heaven. Well, not Taylor heaven, but I feel like I could've easily spent $400 on this guitar, (post-upgrade).Overall, the guitar is ok at best before the upgrades. It's hard to find a guitar with a warm tone at this price, and the fret buzz is pretty common for a guitar in this price range. If fretbuzz annoys you as much as it annoys me, then spend the extra $25 to upgrade.

A real beauty

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

Lovely delicate inlay in shiny jet black, a real beauty. With its flatter fretboard this one?s fine to keep tuned down for bottleneck. Not growly blues, though--mahogany has a mellow, balanced tone without the complex deep resonance you?d expect in a dreadnought. Still, don?t take this to gigs ?cause laminate is for quiet exploration and casual play when you just can?t worry about setting it down to dash out a note of your latest inspiration. For a student (and aren?t we all?), travel, or special use, this gitbox is a great value--rugged, handsome, creative.

An Amazing Deal

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

My boss brought it into work for me to do some maintainance on it, not that there was anything wrong with it, he just doesn't play guitar. I was just messing around with it playing some blues scales and a few random acoustic licks and the sound was amazing, I didn't beleive it was a bargain guitar. I recommend this guitar for new and experienced players.

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

Been playing guitar for 25 years, bought this used while deployed and was blown away. It has a good tone, and is set up nice. the lower fret board are a little more concave that most making it sturdy and less likely to bow, this flattens up towards the top making it virtually unoticable. I had planned on leaving it in the dessert but have decided to hang on to it for my home collection. Great deal even the gig bag altough not top of the line gets the job done fine.

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

This is a great guitar, period! It sounds much better than my guitar that I spent several hundred more on, and would choose this one over it any day! It's a deep, woody, yet clear sound, which is exactly what I wanted. I've had it for over 2 years, and the only problem I've had is the wood that makes up the bridge split a bit, the the Washburn Customer Service fixed it for free, with no troubles! I may just have to buy another one for merely another finish.

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

Great axe, has nice action out of the box, looks simply beautiful in wine red, and sounds heavenly. The mahogany lends this thing a great, slightly mellow but still loud and clear sound. Get this , and upgrade the bridge saddle, nut, and bridge pins to GraphTech TUSQ, and you will have a truly incredible guitar for under 200$. Don't be fooled by the price; its a killer guitar.

I highly recommend this guitar. I've had no problems with it and I've had it for 2 years now. I dropped the guitar and a tuning peg fell off. But if you have the money totally buy it.

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

After a very long time of trying to decide to purchase a Washburn, I made up my mind about a week ago to purchase one. I ordered a D100DL with the black finish. It arrived today, and I had tuned it and was playing within ten minutes. I am very impressed with this instrument. It really sounds great, looks great and handles well. I have played for over thrity years, I've had several guitars but this is the best for the money that I have owned. I recommend it to everyone who is in search of a very reasonably priced quality guitar.

A Beautiful Instrument with a Rich Sound

By frugalTenor

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Washburn D100DL Acoustic Guitar:

I?m an experienced piano player and singer that recently decided to take up guitar. While I?m not experienced enough yet to expound on (or even understand) all of this guitar?s virtues, I am extremely impressed and satisfied at present. For starters, the instrument is absolutely beautiful. The mahogany is a rich and deep nut brown, and the inlaid details (around the sound hold and down the center of the back) are elegant and eye catching. The construction quality appears to be excellent: all edges line up perfectly, the neck is square and straight, the frets are uniform in height, and the finish is clean and unblemished. I was able to tune the guitar in five minutes, and the out-of-the-box sound is rich and clear. Finally, the action on this instrument seems significantly more forgiving than that on other guitars I?ve tried. I?m able to produce clean and clear tones as a beginner, and (thus far) my fingers are surviving the unfamiliar abuse. In short, I?m rather amazed that I found this wonderful instrument for such a reasonable price, and I happily recommend this guitar to others in similar situations.
