This model starts with a solid spruce top for full, warm tone right out of the box. The back and sides are solid rosewood, bound with a striking ivoroid binding. The tuning machines are Grover Sta-Tite tuners with original butter bean buttons, offering precision tuning. The Washburn guitar comes out of the box looking and feeling like an old friend. The natural stain and the pure finish give it a smoky mountain feel and vibe.

The Buzz Feiten Tuning System is a tempered tuning formula, which uses a compensated nut and saddle to correct the inherent intonation problems of the Western tuning formula.
