I'm over 50 year's old and have a bunch of guitars. The Washburn D8GAP is a great package. I keep it by the fireplace and jam on it all the time. It records well, sounds great, stay's in tune as well as a Gibson or Fender. The built in tuner is a easy way to go for any small gig.
Great value for a starter or a beach box. Perfect for a beginner. Fit and finish very good for this level guitar, needed to raise action a little a few strings buzz but it's an easy adjustment. Tuner pegs hold well, strings could be better, sound is adequate for entry level. Electronic tuner mounted in guitar good idea although not exact close enough to get you started. Gig bag good enough for what you are protecting. For this small amount of money you get a great tool for learners, I now have 3 washburns and am convincted no one gives you more for your money.
I recently purchased this outfit - I am just learning to play and did not want to spend a lot initially. I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall quality and finish of the guitar. I got the solid spruce top which sounds great. Everything about the guitar, so far, has been great. I looked at several other packages and low priced guitars and I don't think this can be beat! The strap is just okay and the gig bag probably wouldn't last long if traveling a lot, but both are fine for my needs and - you get what you pay for. My only complaint is the built in tuner LED light on a couple of the strings don't always work without pressing down on them, but the tuner itself does a great job. If you're looking for a good guitar that will last if you take care of it, look no further.
OMG! Was I surprised when I played this guitar. The neck is great! The frets are meticulously filed so it is as smooth as a Taylor. The tone is bright and loud. Lots of nice extras like top tuners, white binding with a thin black accent line throughout, a gorgeous finish! The wood design on the back of the guitar is truly beautiful. I've played very expensive guitars in my day and this has the look, feel and sound to match any Taylor, Gibson, Guild or Fender acoustic. The tuner is just a bit touchy and jumps easily between high and low. I will attribute that to the loudness and sustain of the strings. I have no idea why they are selling this guitar at such a cheap price. You will really be pleased and amazed at this guitar...no kidding!
