Full fretboard access with a full, deep bottom end and balanced hi end response.
Washburn added a B-Band tape mic & preamp to this Venetian cutaway version of their best selling jumbo guitar to create the J28SCEDL Cumberland. The B-Band system will give you the closest tone to a miked acoustic guitar you can get on stage. The jumbo maple body with solid spruce top sounds awesome unplugged as well.

I own many guitars but the one I ALWAYS pick up for acoustic is my Washburn! It just has the BEST BALANCED SOUND of any I own! It is able to play many styles of music with TONAL MAGIC! It accompanies my voice PERFECTLY and projects REAL ACOUSTIC SOUNDS PERFECTLY! The bass is FULL and the treble is SWEET without scream! The mid-range is PERFECT which TRULY GIVES THIS GUITAR A PERFECTLY BALANCED SOUND SPECTRUM! Very well made yet light as a feather! I have found a MATCH FOR ME AND MY FRIENDS! They NEVER want to give it back once they play it! When I tell them they don't make them anymore they want me to sell it to them! NOT! NEVER! OVER MY DEAD BODY!
Washburn J28SCEDL Cumberland Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar is the best guitar for the price. My wife had bought this guitar for me about 4 years ago,And it has been the best guitar for me.It is very reliable, the beauty is perfect.I play gospel music all the time and it has been great.
I bought a guitar very similar to this one with the added difference of inlaid mother of pearl in a vine design up the length of the fretboard. Also, the top on mine is adirondack spruce, and is known as the J28SCEDL MVP, supposedly a limited edition of 200, commissioned by Oklahoma Vintage Guitars. It plays beautifully, looks superb and through a small amp the fishman pick up is amazing. I originally ordered a Martin D-1 and was infact sent this guitar by mistake, but in all honesty, after lowering the action by almost a millimetre all round and dressing the frets, the crisp trebles and fruity bass make this a guitar to die for. Given I paid only $699.00 for this guitar, it packs a lot of features for the expenditure, and will, as a limited edition, hold its value, or indeed increase over time. As a owner of several high-end guitars, including several Martins and Gibsons, this guitar compares very favourably to them. Good job!
I got my Washburn J28SCEDL last Friday. I love it! It has a wonderful tone, better action than my LP, it looks killer and sounds great plugged or un-plugged. When I pulled it out of the case to have a luthier lower the bridge and install a button on the neck-base for a strap, he said, "Wow! That is a lot of guitar for the money!"Do not spend a thousand more because of a brand name!! This will immediately become your favorite axe, and all of your buds will want to play it; if they can get you to put it down. Plus, it is made in the USA! Buy It! I'm a big guy and it is a Jumbo, so I had to get a longer strap.
I have owned this Washburn for 5 years. It has stood the test of time. I bought it as a knock-around guitar that I take to church camp and other events where I didn't want to risk my Gibson. This is a very good guitar. The pick-up is great. The guitar is beautiful. The construction is excellent. One improvement that I made was to replace the saddle. This is needed to bring out the acoustic potential of this guitar. You put a bone saddle in this guitar and you can hardly tell the difference between it and a $3000 Gibson. Best guitar for the money!
This Guitar is Awsome..... Awesome. Buy one
I always get complements on this guitar--from other acoustic musicians--beautiful sound--solid construction--great finish on the wood.Bought this guitar 3 years ago as an "upgrade" to an acoustic/electric I own--plugged them both into the same amp w/ same settings--big difference! The pick-ups on the Washburn do just what you want them to do--great presence, super 3 band EQ. I did have the phone-jack relocated to the bottom of the guitar--didn't like the guitar cord sticking out the end. I play acoustic several times a month--great gig guitar--has never failed me--neck is true--this guitar stays in tune. Don't need a built-in tuner--just clamp on a Chromatic Headstock Tuner (TG-200H) and you're set.
This guitar(Washburn J28SCEDL) was a christmas present, i couldnt be happier with it. The tone, balance, and clarity are excellent. I would definately recomend this guitar for the price. A veteran guitar player, impressed with its richness, offered to buy it for more than twice what i payed for it.
I love this everything about this guitar. It doesn't have a built in tuner, and I wouldn't say that it is the best value, but it is a beautiful guitar. I especially love the balanced sound that comes from the strings. No one string is competing for volume over another. This guitar sounds great, and looks great.
I've been playing for about 15 yrs. I own 2 ovations and a PRS electric. I was looking for an acoustic electric with bigger projection and I sure found it. The craftsmanship is excellent and the tone matches. You could spend more money... but, you won't find a nicer guitar!
