If it's good enuff for Nuno, it's good enuff for you-know-who.

An extremely fast neck with Stephens cutaway grants complete access to the higher frets on this custom-shop crafted rock machine. The swamp ash body provides a stunning range of tones from airy highs to warm lows with lots of sustain. A Bill Lawrence L500 in the bridge and a Duncan '59 in the neck churn out heavy tones. The Floyd Rose with locknut keeps it nailed within Buzz Feiten System intonation specs. A Washburn standard, it's a super road axe. Just ask Nuno and the thousands of guitarists who play it.

The Washburn N4 is a guitar for modern shredders who want a classic sound and feel. The neck isn't as thin as an Ibanez Wizard neck but it feels just right when your hand wraps around it. The '59 and Bill Lawrence are not as hot as DiMarzio Evolutions or Tone Zones but when you think of it, Nuno's kind of guitar playing is different from the music of Vai, Dimebag or Satch. Any real guitarist knows and values the specific tone each guitar produces in combination with its pickups. The '59 and L-500XL make up the whole tone that Nuno is known for: warm neck tone / broad, raunchy-sounding bridge that often sounds like the wah pedal is on.Get this guitar if you're a real rock guitarist who shreds and enjoys classic rock as well. Now, if you think you must replace the pickups with, say, a dime bucker, maybe you'd be better off buying something else.

    ehh, just OK

This guitar is a beautiful looking guitar, it plays just OK. It has a very thin sound, which I guess is what Nuno Bettencourt's tone is.

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

this is a beautiful guitar, its color and finish are unbelievable, i love it. however, the floyd rose is very bad, its so hard to tune its not even funny. and the neck is very uncomfortable. the pickups arent very good, but i recently put a dime bucker and a seymour duncan in and it sounds great. i reccomend this guitar, but it takes getting used to

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

Holy Crap! This thing kicks butt! I tried another washburn electric recently and ended up getting rid of it. I tried this baby and you know what? I like this better than my fenders! It still doesn't beat explorer's,les pauls, and sg's, but I will definitely keep this as one of my top guitars. Great job washburn!

    N- series guitars

    By Theringmastergf

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

I actually just bought the N-2 model, it doesn't have all the perks of the N-4 but it is outright amazing. Super-fast neck, Floyd Rose trem, Bill Lawrence USA hum, and the most unexpected suprise...coil-splitting ability and unheard of sustain. I have to say, I was kind of skeptical about buying the cheaper Nuno, but didn't have the money for the N-4 right now. I could have not asked for a better find. I put it up against my brother's ESP, which he paid more for, and well his ESP didn't even come close.

    Surprised

    By Chris-WvH9B

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

Purchased Spring 04. The best way to describe this ax is "the APV" of guitars! To my ears, the pick up combination sounds great. I play classic rock, a little grunge, some laid back country, it all works well. Sustain! Push up the gain and this is where I think this guitar really shines! I run this through an old ADA MP-1 with an ADA power amp into a Marshall 212 cabinet or a Peavey 5150 Combo (original) and I can coax just about any "vibe" I want out of this ax. Would have gave it a perfect 10, but I had to set up the guitar some out of the box. Picky, yeah, but nothings perfect. Oh yeah, peel off the N-4 stickers. Only Nuno would not look cheesy with them. Washburn has a winner!

    Shredalicious

    By Chaos Rex

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

I have loved Washburn guitars since I saw that dude from Nitro on the commercial. I got my first Chicago Series LTD in the early 90s and played it all this time. Then I bought an N4. I had wanted this guitar for so long. I have the Paduak so sound aside (much heavier wood) this guitar plays better than anything I've laid my fingers too. The Stevens Extended Cutway should be manditory for all guitars. It's the greatest thing there is. Coupled with the Buzz Tuning System and a Floyd Rose Licensed Trem and two awesome pick-ups and this thing is just beyond incredible. I do miss the tone knob as I love versatility but again I can't say enough about this guitar. Play one today.

Spectacular feel! Great high end guitar!

Comments about Washburn Nuno Series N4ESA Electric Guitar:

I was fan of Nuno and his style and playing. Picked up an N2 and others. What a Joke! Picked up an N4 and realized why he demanded these features in a guitar. I now own two! Great feel! Weight, balance, feel, size!Great sound! Good pickup selection. You change pickups and radically change sound, unlike other guitars I own.Great quality! Great quality frets, neck, woods used, electronics, etc. Everything is designed and put together like you would expect a guitar of this price range to be. No dissapointments.GREAT FEATURES! A tad smaller body than I am used to, but feels very comfortable. Different pickup selector switch and volume knob location- (it was great! I never accidentally hit them while playing.) When you get accustomed to the Stevens Extended Cutaway and the upper neck and fret access, it will be difficult to go back. After owning this guitar, it has changed many of the features and locations of my signature guitar when it comes out. (Which will probably be never- but we can dream right?)
