OVERALL WELL BUILT GUITAR , NICE SOUND, ACTIONS RIGHT THERE, FUN TO PLAY, BUT ITS ADVERTISED AS ROSEWOOD BACK AND SIDES, MAYBE INCLUDE LAMINATE ROSEWOOD BACK AND SIDES, STILL SATISFIED, ITS A KEEPER
Comments about Washburn WD 25S Sitka Spruce Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar with Rosewood Back & Sides:
I have been playing for seventeen years and have played Fender and Martin acoustics exclusivley. This is my first Washburn. I have to say, for the money spent this is a wonderfull guitar. It has a very balanced tone for a guitar at this price range. Nice volume but not boomy. I like the wider thinner neck. I beleive it is a thin C shape. The guitar is not set up from the factory. This is an advantage, it allows you to set it to your personnal preferance. Nice fit and finish on the frets and fret board. I love the flatter fretboard radius, it allows bends without fretting out. Mine has a few very minor finish flaws, but thats no issue. Nice tall scalloped braceing fitted very good. Very nice looking and playing guitar. The only thing that I really dont like are the tuners. Real Grovers would have been nice, but they seem to work fine. Might upgrade them if they give me any trouble. Overall this seems to be a great guitar for the money. If your looking for a quality guitar on a budget I dont think this guitar will let you down. I will definatley buy a Washburn again.
Loved the wood and abalone binding, nice solid top. great fretboard radius. well finished fretts. I have always played a traditionaly shaped thicker neck but I Like the thinner neck on this guitar and the satin finish. It plays smooth and fast. I was able to get the action nice and low but there isnt any more room for adjustment for when the guitar starts to age. Nice smooth rosewood frett board.
I like everything except the tuners are kind of cheesey but they seem to work ok. Real grovers would have been nice. there are a few small finish flaws no big deal. Not sure about how strong the three peice neck is -only time will tell. Other than that overall quality and sound is very good. Third fret is a little high very minor for a guitar at this price range.
overall value is great. Much better quality control than a silver creek. Fender acoustics at this price range dont even come close.
