Awesome acoustic for the money

By Zachary Cunningham

from Shinnston, WV

Comments about Washburn WD15S Solid Sitka Spruce Top Acoustic Dreadnought Mahogany Guitar:

This acoustic proves you are really buying the name and not quality in terms of excessively priced acoustics. While Taylors and Martins both do have beautiful sound, I cannot simply see it being justified in either case (acoustic or electric) that these guitars cost thousands of dollars. American made products should cost less, not more. Many people are squeamish about guitars less than 500-650, and I was too when I got this one because I had not had an opportunity to sit down and play it and it was a wonderful surprise. I would recommend getting grover tuners to replace the current ones. It holds tune, but its personal preference for me for added security.
Abalone stripe around the binding (not my favorite but its thin so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb), standard dot inlays
This is an example where you have a guitar that is priced much lower than its value. Very smooth and extremely playable neck. Thinner than some but not brittle, and is one of the most comfortable ones I've played on an acoustic. I had an Epiphone EJ before this and that neck was like a beam of wood. Playing this guitar was on par with a martin.
Unbeatable for the money. You really get more than what you pay for.
