The Washburn WD 25S Dreadnought acoustic guitar is made with a solid Alaskan Sitka spruce top, and rosewood back and sides. This full-sized dreadnought has a mahogany neck that is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. An under-the-saddle Piezo pickup and a Fishman Isys+ Tuner/Preamp System give you the freedom to perform at any venue. I have owned a lot of guitars in my life, this one is a keeper. Plays great, sounds good acoustic or hooked up. The Fishman 301T is plenty loud and it blends well.However tends to be a little heavy on bottom end. For the money this is a great guitar. This is an entry level guitar...but had I got this one first...I would not have spent all that money on my expensive guitars. Only negative should have been shipped more secure. Had surface scuffs from moving around in the box. Other than that it is ready to Gig.

Can't believe that Washburn can put together a guitar that sounds and looks as good as the WD25SCE. Unamplified tone is amazing and will rival anything out there cost 4 times this amount. Amplified tone from the Isis + is acceptional.
This guitar tunes up and stays in tune. The factory website says that it comes with Lights 12-53 strings. I like Elixer Custom Lights 11-52, I threw on a set of them and the guitar accepts them without issue, no tuning problems at all.
Can't say enough about this. Get one, you'll be pleased.

Other than the first minor defect that I found with that first guitar, I cannot find anything to complain about with this guitar.
I have been searching for the perfect guitar for a while now and I have found it. By perfect I mean great sounding, great looking, well built, and most of all PLAYABLE but for a low cost because I'm not a rich man.
I purchased the Washburn WD25SCE 2 weeks ago and fell in love with it. I was only able to play it unplugged in my bedroom for the first few days, then I had a gig where I used a PA System. To my chagrin I found that the lower string E and A were profoundly louder than the rest of the strings when amplified. But......I know what was wrong, I have a luthier friend that took a look at it and he said there was nothing seriously wrong with it, the saddle was perfectly flat so there was more pressure on the bass strings than on the treble strings.
Although it was an easy fix ( just a little sanding is all that it needed ) I decided to send it back so I wouldn't void any warranties, etc.
But, I have to say that I loved this guitar so much that I took another Washburn WD25SCE in exchange for it.
The tone from the spruce top and rosewood back and sides is incredible, the neck feels great in my hands, the pickup ( Fishman Isys + ) is really cool, not complicated, it has the basic functions.....volume, bass, treble, phase switch and a tuner. I like this because I have seen some guitar preamps that have a ridiculous amount of controls on them and they leave you scratching your head and trying to figure out what slider or knob to move.
All in all, for the money I honestly don't think there is a better guitar out there.

the giutar is loud very articulate great action out of the box bone saddle and nut too. Read the stats on it you will not be disapointed fisman preamp and tuner.the list goes on.
washburn does it again all expenssive features for a little price.

Like the bone nut and saddle, my Gibson came with a Tusq nut and plastic bridge pins
I've had the WD25SCE for about 30 days now and I am leaning towards keeping it. The guitar has many extras that are usually only seen on higher end models (bone nut and saddle, fishman electronics), and if you've ever owned or played a Washburn, it has that ring that Washburns are famous for. Very comfortable to play and the Rosewood is very nice looking. It has an articulate and loud tone.
