I was being somewhat cautious in buying a guitar that was so reasonable in price. All my guitar playing friends said to be careful because it sounds "to good to be true". Well let me be the one who can honestly say, this is an awesome guitar and don't let the price fool you. It can hardly be matched by any other guitar in this price range and the price makes it more attractive to me!! I have been playing my vintage '75 model Flying V, which i've owned since it was new. I wanted a new guitsr so i could semi retire Mr. V. and I felt like I would be a good judge on how the Washburn WI14C played after the V. Well let me tell you, It Is An Awesome GUITAR!!! First of all don't be fooled by the price. This WI14C is more than I expected! A whole lot more! From the first time I pulled it out of the box and suited up(that's what I call it when I strap it on)and played it I knew I had something special and that I had made the right choice. Excellent fret ease, great sound and tone and it looks great. I bought the black model. It can scream or whisper with the best of them!! Check this one out. You want be sorry.

I bought it from 123 for a cheap backup. It is that. a cheap backup. Problem is, it doesn't have anything to offer. It play crappy. The pickups are crap. the frets are rough. The nut grooves were so poorly finished that it caused high E to bind. The pickups are complete crap. I guarantee they will sound like crap from the start. They will give off this mega-muddy, tone free. I learned to dispise this guitar in less than 4 hours. Even the 1/4" jack was screwed up. I can't believe Washburn would put their name on something so foul. As for the overall appearance, you'll hate it right out of the box. It is one ugly piece of crap. It is cheap, and unlike most other cheap guitars, it really looks cheap. Don't buy this for your kid as a first guitar. I guarantee this ridiculous excuse for a musical instrument will definitely put them off guitar. In summary: Looks bad. Sounds bad. Plays bad. Non-existant quality.I returned it after playing with it a couple of hours. There are a whole array of cheap guitars out there that will play well, as well as being upgradable, not to mention asthetically pleasing. This ain't even close.

Amazing

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Is the most comfortable guitar I have ever played. Its body is fairly small, making it feel perfect. it sits farther back on your leg than other guitars do. There is a slight cup for your arm to rest in making it amazingly simple to play anything. To make it feel really good put some 9 gauge strings on it. The simplest word I can find for playing this guitar, floating.

Awesome

Where can I start out, I have had three different guitars, a fender (squier) strat, an ibanez grx20, and this washburn. This is a so much better guitar for its price range. This is one of the best beginner guitars out there, it's got a three way switch and dual humbuckers for a great sound variety, very nice tuning keys, and a comfortable, yet unique body style. Of course there are better guitars out there, but I guarantee they're not in this price range.

Awesome Guitar!

By ErnieBallsRule

I got this guitar as a present for Christmas, and it rules!! I had wanted it for a while and much to my surprise I had gotten it. I had no clue but it comes with a tremolo. It's really good if you're looking for a quality guitar for a good price! I'd recommend it for beginners and intermediate players. My dad with over 30 years of playing guitar plays it... so I'd say it's good.

Moneysaver

I got this guitar with one thing in mind: money left in my wallet. And it worked. This guitar is definitely worth the price, and even the case is a good deal. Very good for a 1st guitar, even decent for a 2nd.

Disappointed

By smizell

from Elizabeth City, NC

I ordered this guitar because of it's looks and because I already owned a great Washburn accoutic electric for 10 years. However, I was greatly disappointed with this guitar when it arrived. Firstly, it didn't have the same paint color as in the catalog. Secondly, when I hooked it up, it didn't work. I changed out the cord with the one I use for my accoutic and it worked fine, but the volume knobs didn't make any difference until I turned them up to 6 or 7. Then, it stopped working at all - absolutely no sound coming out. One of the pickups was ready to fall out. When I chorded the neck, it "buzzed" no matter where I chorded on the neck. I realize that the price is not a lot to pay for a guitar, but a new product should not arrive in a condition that requires as much money to get in working order as it did to buy it. I will say this...the guitar felt great with the cutaway portions that allow it to "form fit" to you when you play. I don't think all these guitars are bad, but I sure think I got a lemon. I was disappointed because I think it could have been a great value with the nice case included.

If you're just getting started and want a good sound and quality performance this will give it to you. The price makes this a good deal for any beginner.

WOW

By 'Tallica dude

Don't be fooled by the freakin cheap price. I bought this guitar like 1 1/2 years ago as my first "good" guitar, and still works brand-new. The tone is amazing! The body is as light as a feather compared to my Jackson KE2, so it is great for gigs and shows. This guitar since the beginning, is the first one I pickup when practicing. The pickups by the way, are amazingly full of tone and sustain. Great for playing country, jazz, and blues, all the way up to metal, grunge, and thrash. I love it!

very pleased

By strat man 9.0

from 1063 heber ave.

I recommend you buy this guitar. It is everything you will ever need when it comes to a guitar. The neck is thin so you play with ease. The pickups sound very full and crisp when you hit a chord. It also comes with four volume adjustments and three playing modes. The strings are great but if you want a fuller, richer sound buy some fender bullets nine gauge stings.
