Before I start, I'll just say I own the discontinued version of this guitar. It has a Phenolic fretboard, which they no longer sell here on MF. But aside from that, I can say this: It is worth every penny you have to save to buy it. It's not expensive, but it plays like a $750 guitar. That's before a setup. I haven't ever had my guitar professionally set up, and I know that I'm missing out just a little, but it plays just fine without one. (Would probably play like a $1000 dollar guitar if it was.) The neck is very comfortable and I experience less hand fatigue than usual. The finish is absolutely gorgeous. Mirror-like, I can see myself in it. This is officially my new favorite guitar, and for the price, you CAN NOT beat it. If your a beginner looking for a first guitar that won't discourage you, or have been playing a while and are looking to get a better one, this is the guitar to get.
I saw this guitar and decided to take a chance on it since it had all the ingredients to be a fantastic value for the money. I have about 16 other guitars off all kinds, all nice, and have had luck recently with guitars in this price range (PRS SE, Agile, etc). I also own LPs, strats, and custom guitars. Like I said, the guitar itself is near ideal, with a locking trem, dual PUs, and the finish was great. However, there were problems. 1)The frets were not polished correctly and had file marks running across them which produced an audible scratching sound when bending notes. 2)The action was WAY too high for a "shredders" guitar. 3)The trem was not even set up right, and tuning to 440 brought the bridge sky-high which required massive adjustment. All of these are unacceptable to me, no matter the price range. In contrast, I have 2 PRS SE's and the setup and frets were absolutely perfect on them out of the box. Now, even though she looks real good, she goes back where she came from.
This guitar is very suprising. It has egnator pickups in it instead of the randall ones. They still sound great. The neck is really fast and the rosewood fingerboard is the best I've ever played on. Its so smooth and flawless. The only downside to this guitar is that it does not feature coiltapping which is a plus. This guitar is really lightweight and easy to play. I have the black version and its a nice finish but it scratches easily. This was my first floyd rose and this one is pretty reliable. Iits not that difficult to change strings or tune if you know what you're doing. What surprised me most is the tone of this guitar. For such a lightweight, thin guitar it has as warm as a tone as a les paul. The guitar has great sustain. The bolt on neck contruction is surprisingly comfortable and fits your hand. This guitar screams versitility. I can play anything from slipknot to brian setzer. Its amazing. If you are searching for the best guitar that rivals guitars twice its price search no more.
I looked at alot of guitars at this price point and this is by far the best!Neck is comfy and neck joint is almost non existant so acess to upper frets is seamless. Trem action is smooth with great range. Fit and finish is flawless. Pickups are high output give nice crunch and clean up nice. I'll probably put seymour duncans in but thats my preference. At the price this thing is awesome! Oh yeah, fast neck!!!
