This was my first guitar. Purchased it back in 2001, when I used to live in Singapore. Paired it with a Randall practice amp and the tones were pretty sweet. The pickups were great and the single coils really put out an excellent clean tone. It was durable. I traveled the world with my Washburn. After over 60 plane trips, it looked and performed amazingly. I took very poor care of it. Rarely changed strings and never cleaned it. It went from one humid environment to a dry environment to a hot or cold environment every few hours of its life, and the neck never warped!
It's been 15 years and I still play her every now and then. Always a good time :)

I bought this guitar 5 months ago and sence i bought it it sounded great for the price range. It has a horible paint job on it. It looks good but if you drop it or something the paint will chip thats what happend to mine. I picked it up and it slipped a little and hit the side of my bed and it chipped and cracked the paint and wood. I would not recomend this guitar for someone who plays the guitar a lot. It sounds good but the paint is not good. I bought the black version of it. I would recomend saving up for an epiphone les paul or sg. They have amazing paint jobs and sound 100 times better than the washburn. If you want a good strat. guitar I recomend saving up for a fender fat strat. My friend in my band has a fender fat strat. and it sounds and plays amazing. 100 times better than my washburn x10 so I dont recomend this guitar.

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I recieved this guitar a few years ago as a gift and still frequently return to it. Ive been playing for almost 4 years and this is my go to axe for low tuning and metal. I love the balance of this guitar for things with overdrive however it doesnt clean up to well.Pros- Really fast neck, nice polished frets (24), sturdy construction, nice finish (I got a rare dark cherry wood/wine color),Cons- Tremolo system detunes frequently, hard to get a pure clean, input jack is a little loose, a personal grievance my pickup selector (blade style) had the tip break off after a few months.

    Great guitar

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I love the smooth unfinished neck on the Washburn X-10 compared to my Squire Strat. Barre chords are much easier and comfortable. They are similar in many ways except the Strat has two tone knobs to the Washburns one. My Washburn feels better and costs as much as the Squire did 20 years ago!

    NICE

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

It may not look "good" to some people, but to me all that matters is the sound. And this guitar sounds "good", especially with its humbucker which gives an extra crunch. Couple it with a nice amp and a few pedals, and you are good to go.It's good for anyone as a very first beginner guitar or a "screw around" axe for a pro. The finish looks beautiful, too.THIS IS A GOOD BUY.

    durable.

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I have owned this particular guitar for about 8 months, and i've gotta say it is excellent. early on, it had some minor tuning problems, some fret buzz(had to be fixed TWICE, although both minor cases on 1 or 2 frets.), and a problem with raising or lowering the action. after those were fixed, it played like a dream. the wasburn x10 is easily the best guitar in the price range by a longshot. versatile- can get any tone you want, and the neck isn't painted so its much faster, and in my opinion, more comfortable. i don't see any need to change the pups. I haven't changed my strings once, so i have more tuning problems, and thats to be expected. the paint won't chip as long as you take care of it(i.e. get a case or gig bag).all in all, a great guitar. washburn is great, and their quality can't be beat, or even touched, in this price range.

    Incredible

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar. I've had it for about a year and had absolutely no problems with it. I haven't had any paint chipping. It's incredibly versatile doing anything from Jazz to Metal to Shred. My dad has a '72 Gibson SG and I think this guitar is better for playability; it doesn't match the tone of the SG though, and for the price it shouldn't.This guitar should easily sell in the $500 range. I've been considering trading up for something with better sound but to get that I can't find anything under $600, and that's another Washburn.I'm probably going to get some new pick ups instead because the guitar plays so well.

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I have only been playing guitar for a little over a month, but I have to say this guitar is of very hi quality for such little money. My friends who are all seasoned guitar players have all given it a try and comment on its great sound and how it's so light. I like its high action too, because I play lots of slide guitar. If you're learning like me, this is a good place to start.

Can't knock it for the price...

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

Had this for about a year as an economical, light-weight "beater" guitar. Pickups are fine, but I added Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB in the bridge position and it sounds FANTASTIC for rockin'. I play out (keyboards & guitar) every week in a band and guess what? I NOW use my trusty G&L F-100 as my Backup guitar (also the G&L weighs 9 lbs). The paint X-10is kinda cheap overall but looks good in pictures that audience members take (mine is metallic blue - hint: wear black for the ultimate in contrast), but the neck is comfortable, and it holds tune great even when using the whammy (unless you do "major dive-bomb" whammy bar tricks). The added Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB makes any sustaned note that feeds back - p-e-r-f-e-c-t every time. Please don't compare this guitar to axes costing 10x as much... it is what it is: a great workhorse (or even a 1st guitar).
