Versatile tones, a whammy bar, and Buzz Feiten tuning makes this a great axe for nearly any gig!
Trust the Washburn X33 Electric Guitar to deliver your favorite single-coil tones. The X33 is a carved-top, whammy-equipped classic. You'll be perfectly at home performing country, rock and blues on this electric guitar. Use the 5-way toggle switch to dial in all of the classic tones you'd expect from a Washburn guitar. Featuring a solid carved top alder body, rosewood fingerboard and a high gloss finish, you'll find the sound you need for many different music styles in the X33.
The Buzz Feiten Tuning System™ and Grover tuners keep you perfectly in tune, and the Washburn Headhunter humbucking pickups provide the power you need for both chunky rhythm lines and soaring solos.
The Buzz Feiten Tuning System is a tempered tuning formula, which uses a compensated nut and saddle to correct the inherent intonation problems of the Western tuning formula. The system that Buzz devised has been a godsend to guitarists. Fans of the system include Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Liona Boyd and Andy Summers. The Buzz Feiten Tuning System is standard on all USA made Washburn guitars and basses and is featured on select imported models. Washburn is the only major guitar manufacturer to incorporate the system as a standard feature on production guitars.

This guitar appealed to me because of it's strat style but different look. I couldn't find many reviews on this model and I had never owned a Washburn before but it turned out to be a very nice, comfortabe to play, quality instrument. Pickups are a little noisy but cancel in 2 and 4 positions. Neck is really nice. I got the Black/maple model. I think the X33 has been discontinued by Washburn because it's no longer on their website. Get one and you'll have a reasonable priced, unique strat that plays great and is built to last. Washburn guitars are made in the USA.
The neck is warped, its fat and uncomfortable. The neck and middle pickup have at least a normal amount of volume but sound like mudd. The bridge barely has any point, it barely works. It neevr stays in tune and is impossable to get in tune. The finish looks nice though.
This is an outstanding guitar. The build quality, sound and playability are awesome. The great finish coupled with the high quality components and "Buzz" tuning system, make this guitar a "no-brainer." DO NOT buy a MIM Strat, buy this. You won't be disappointed. I've been playing for over 20 years, trust me, this is the "strat" to buy.
The X-33 as received needed minor neck and pick-up adjustments. The guitar responded well to both. Playability and tonal range improved significantly after the minor adjustments. The finish is flawless and the hardware seems to be of very good quality. The tuning key screws needed to be tightened as all of them were loose. The guitar stays in tune relatively well under hard playing conditions. The tones from the Shaman pickups are adequate and need not be changed immediately. If you're looking for decent articulation and typical single coil tone, these pick-ups will serve you well. The Buzz Feiten System is a definite plus. Overall, this is one of the best values. The only complaint I have is regarding the stiffness of the trem. It's almost like an arm wrestling match when I use the trem. However, I did not buy it for the trem. I bought it becasuse it is a great value.
