Comments about Yamaha 50th Anniversary FG180 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I've played lots of guitars and only in the last few months have I owned more than 2, after 20 years of owning just 2.

This guitar won't be for sale much longer in the US. That's OK with me, as I have one now. But for thousands of players, I feel bad you won't get to play this Yammy.

The craftsmanship on this piece is very good. The case is also put together well. But the tone of the guitar is something special, and I still have the factory strings on it. It has loads of sustain and chime, with strong but not boomy bass. The 1 3/4" low-profile neck is spot on. I mean, spot on. It gives you room to fingerpick but doesn't come at the expense of a chunky neck.

This is a keeper. I see there's one left for sale. Don't miss this chance to own a little piece of guitar history. Seriously.

Comments about Yamaha 50th Anniversary FG180 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Wildly exceeded all expectations. From the meticulous fit and finish, super fast neck, all solid wood ARE treated spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, this guitar is flawless. A literal "gift" from Yamaha at this price point. It even comes with a quite nice looking hard shell case. The action was perfect right out of the box-no setup needed. The sound, punchy and sweet down low, incredible and well separated mids with chiming bell like highs. And that's with the factory strings. Musician's Friend was very nice to deal with during the over two month long wait period keeping me updated regarding expected ship dates. I've owned Guild D55's, Gibson singer songwriter deluxe, Martin D28's etc, this guitar can easily cut through the mix and be heard in a room full of those. If there are any left available, get one.

Comments about Yamaha 50th Anniversary FG180 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

O M G if you are a fan or even know about the red label fg180 - this is an excellent tribute and recognition of this awesome guitar. This was my husband's first guitar, back in 1970- he still has it and it was still his favorite. Beat up and bruised, but still going strong. But this anniversary edition- completely over the top. The wood grain, the book matching (god it's gorgeous), the sound, the action, it is, well like I said, if you at all interested in the karma and acoustic impact of the FG180, you will not be disappointed. I wouldn't waste any time in placing an order, because after all, as a VERY limited edition, they are going to go FAST. The packaging was excellent, clearly factory sealed, and Musicians Friend has awesome customer support. Thank-you! This is a wonderful purchase experience for us!!! We ABSOLUTELY LOVE this guitar!!!

Comments about Yamaha 50th Anniversary FG180 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I purchased this because of the good reviews, both here and other sites, and I have no regrets. The action and easiness to play really amazed me. It plays so well it's difficult to put down. The tone is really nice with good sustain although my first impression was the strings were a little bright. Excellent sound though, I'm really pleased.
As everyone reports, the fit and finish is excellent, although it's look is really plain. The spruce top has the ARE treatment which gives it a dark pumpkin color and it's top coated with a deep high gloss finish.
I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Yamaha 50th Anniversary FG180 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I waited impatiently to finally get this guitar shipped to me once it was announced at NAMM. I am impressed with the fit and finish and quality of this guitar. It has a great rich tone that I am hopeful will get better with age. The neck on the guitar is amazing - great playability. If you can still get your hands on one of these while they last it is a great value and rivals my more expensive acoustic guitars for 1/4 the price.
