In retrospect, I suppose should've spent a little more money on a guitar, but starting out at 53 years of age," I was concerned that I might not be able to learn how to play so I tried to buy the least expensive ""good"" guitar I could find. If it had not spontaneously began to disassemble itself before its second birthday", things would be sunshine and roses today and the ratings would be much higher from me.
It does have a lovely tone still. I'm shopping for something else now and I'm leaning towards the Mitchell DM100SCE or the Fender SD140SCE. Something with a solid spruce top and built-in active electronics for less.
I purchased this in the GigMaker bundle as my first guitar. The tone and action were fine. It was fine to learn how to play the guitar with it.
After about eighteen months, the bridge began delaminating from the top at the back corners and the internal X-Brace was separating on the low-E side from the underside of the top.
I used cyanoacrylate to rebond the bridge to the top. I used aliphatic resin glue to rebond the X-Brace to the top. The top was still bowed behind the bridge and bellied between the sound hole and the bridge. I've added a custom-made clamp to absolutely tie the bridge to the top and the bridge plate. It's tolerable, but it still screws up the action.
I purchased this model about 8 years ago from a Guitar shop used and perfectly set up. I just wanted something to write music with. This guitar just gets better with age. The sound is full and the tone is excellent. Mine has exposed gear tuners and stays in tune even with big bends. I have a natural finish which has aged gracefully but the clear coat is really thin and I am able to scar the top with my fingernail running with the grain of the wood. The top resonates well and people cannot believe that its a low budget guitar just by the sound alone. I have a friend that has the exact same guitar and his isn't as good as mine, but I did buy mine professionally set up so you be the judge. I would recommend that you play one first.
The Yamaha F325 is GREAT! I have played for 15 years and currently own a Takamine and an Epiphone. I always come back to the Yamaha - the tone of this guitar is amazing! My friend has a Taylor, and he is jealous of the sound of my Yamaha F325. The playability is great - no problems with buzzing. It holds up to anything you can throw at it. The guitar holds tune well; the tuning heads are of good quality. The action is fast and as I said earlier - the tone is just unbelievable! This guitar is the only acoustic you'll ever need. I've "upgraded" at least 4 times with much more expensive guitars - I keep coming back to this guitar because it works. Don't judge this guitar by the price... play it and you'll fall in love with it - for life!!
I got this guitar for Christmas as my second guitar and first acoustic. It has a very good tone for song writing and stays in tune well.it's good for any level of guitar playing and is good for writing songs with. The pickguard is a nice color and the neck is great. The headstock has a cool little design on it too. This guitar is great all in all,and I recommend it to anyone learining to play.
The f325 is my first guitar and I'm very pleased with it. I learned almost entirely on this guitar, and it was very good for that. However, now that I've owned it for nearly 2 years, an upgrade is definitely in order. I'm at a point where I no longer appreciate the sound. This guitar is not really easy to play (this guitar is the reason I hate barre chords), but it's a very nice guitar to start out with, at least for your first year or two.
I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now and this is what I started with. Great guitar for beginners and sounds very good with some mid elixir strings. Good for strumming and picking. Excellent for learning how to play.
Had this guitar for about six months now and have been very pleased. Aside from some buzzing on the E string it's been fantastic. The strings that it came with were suitable for play. I'd recommend it to anyone getting started. Very easy to learn on.
