This is a great guitar for the price. It plays well and holds a tune well. The electronics are easy to use and good quality. Make sure not to leave it laying around because it is not built to take abuse. In other words the wood is not thick.
Low end price with high end features! Electronics are solid, guitar played well right out of the box. Great tone and action. Nothing fancy just a good solid knock around acoustic for a beginner or even for those of us rockers who play acoustic gigs from time to time.
I have never been disappointed by anything that Yamaha sells. Great quality for the Price.

This guitar was given to me as a "hand-me-down" from a relative, who moved to the mainland. It was my first guitar, didn't know much, but now I now LOTS!!! The first thing that catches my attention is acoustic sound. It sounds great. It's kind of a like a spruce top with a mahogany meets rosewood back and sides. Very well done. However, the piezo pickup doesn't tickle my fancy. It's great for making demos, or practicing, or even jam sessions. My producer played some of the guitar tracks back to me in the studio, and personally, they sounded really junk. Wouldn't get another piezo pickup ever again. I recommend an under saddle pickup. It has great clarity and is the best for studio recording, in my opinion. I'd also prefer a cutaway, since I'm a very versatile player. But that's me! Good Luck!

Great Beginner Guitar

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

Remember this is a beginner guitar. I went to get my Epiphone Les Paul set up and picked this guitar off the rack while I was waiting. Fell in love right away and said to my girl I have to buy this. Of course one day I will buy a Martin or a Tayler (when and if I can ever afford it) but for a "guitar around the house" this is perfect. The action could't be better at this price, but what really blew me away was the pick-up. I just wanted a non-electric acoustic to knock around and when I played this I noticed it had the pick-up. Bonus for me! The real suprise came when I plugged it in. Still with the stock strings on it, it sounded like a pro guitar! Great EQ. I can't wait to hear it with Martin strings on it. For the price, you can't go wrong.

great guitar for the price!

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

this guitar is a fantastic acoustic/electric with great sound, durabilty, and precision features to combine for a great feel and adding style to your play.
the features of this guitar are incredible! the pick-up is great so it sounds nice outof an amp, but also if you want the acoustic sound without an amp.
the quality of this guitar is very good. it is durable and will nt scratch easily so if you travel you dont have to worry. the only problem i had when i first got this guitar were the strings that came on it, but that is an easy fix (d'addario's sound great on it).
for the price, you can't go wrong. it is a great guitar for the price, but of course does not have the sound of a taylor or martin. i would reccomend it to beginners-intermediates.

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

Wow. Seriously, this guitar was alot nicer than I would have expected. When I first pulled it out of the box it looked nice, but once I tuned the strings, man it sounded great. This Yamaha has a very crisp, VERY bright sound. It stays in tune fairly well, and the factory strings were...okay. The pickgaurd looks good, and the sound is nice. Low action, good for beginners. Just wish it had a tuner built on it.

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

(Acoustically) I really like this guitar. It has a really nice sound, and it has huge comfort. I mostly agree with "Mr. Button Man", but some of the things he wrote were opinions. It's actually very versatile, whether you like fingerpicking, flatpicking, or strumming. It'll give you what you want. The only thing I find bad is buzzing. It just doesn't work for me.

(Electrically) I think the electronics could be a bit more clearer like Taylors. Taylor guitars have a very clear sound when they are plugged-in, so that you can hear every little pick. Remember this Yamaha is a starter guitar, so it's not gonna give you that much of a good sound. I think it's pretty average though. Very nice.

Yamaha FX325 is a very nice affordable guitar

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 2 months ago for a guitar class that I am taking at college. This guitar looks, plays, and sounds great. There is no buzz what-so-ever and the actions is very comfortable. It stays in tune extremely well which is good for me because I don't like to tune before each time I play. I would highly recommend spending the extra money to get guitar, rather than a cheaper generic First Act or beginner guitar. I have not plugged this guitar into an amp other than my cheap 10W Fender amp, but from what I could tell the pickup sounded very nice.

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar as a gift from a relative, and trust me; after a while of playing it everyday, I would not recommend it. It feels comfortable and sounds exceptionally good, but there are a lot of bad things connected to it.

1) The pickup system isn't the best. I can hear that it definitely has a neck pickup, but no natural sound, so it doesn't sound good. 2) The guitar is really sensitive to your strumming style. In other words, if you are a person who likes to rock out on your guitar, this may not be the guitar for you, because it buzzes a lot, for some reason. I do not know how. The action feels right, the height of the frets look right, but somehow it buzzes a lot. 3) It has a gloss finish. I suppose it's not bad nor good however. A gloss finish is really beautiful and everything, but if you get body oils on it, it will be there forever, unless you can find something to wipe it down with. 4) When taken outdoors, it develops an irony smell, which isn't pleasing. 5) The sides of the frets, where they end, are uneven. They do not line up with the end of the fret, so be careful not to get any hair stuck in their or anything else.

In conclusion, this is a guitar that I rated below average, because it deserves that title. I hope this helps all of you. I would definitely recommend any guitar except ones made in Indonesia, Korea, or China, for they are not the best quality. I would recommend Taylor, Martin, McPherson, and Takamine. Good Luck!

Good Guitar

By David S

Comments about Yamaha F Series FX325 Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar:

This is a nice guitar, but I didn't get it from Musicians Friend. My dad got it for me as a gift from a local music store. I only dislike two things about this guitar. 1, The pickup in mine isn't attached, but you cannot blame the music store. 2, You cannot put a strap on this like you can with any norman electric guitar, you have tie one end to the headstock and then you can put the other one in the other side as you usually would. But thats my opinion that I dont like...
A gain (volume)/Bass/Treble Slider Equalizer thing.
The quality is great! I love the craftsmanship.
