Great guitar! After I got my second one...

This is a fantastic guitar for the price! The black looks great, but most importantly it sounds GREAT! Yamaha makes many products and they make them with pride, you can tell.

Sorry M.F. Had to buy this local. The finishes are too inconsistent. 1st, Best sounding but had a bad run on the middle of the neck. 2nd, Sanding / buffing residue in the finish around the sound hole.3rd, Slight bump (speck) in the heel of the neck. This one went home with me. I lowered the nut slots & saddle then had a great player. Later I replaced the saddle with bone & installed strap pins. Note: No strap pin on the neck side of a dreadnought is the normal for most mfg. This is not a ding against this guitar. I have worn out about 1/2 dozen sets of strings on this and have no regrets with the purchase.

Yamaha F335

By Benjamin Klor

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I am very pleased with this purchase. This seems to be an outstanding entry-level guitar that will last as long as I maintain it. The sale price, combined with the free shipping I think was a deal that I couldn't have gotten elsewhere.
Good fit and finish. No obvious defects.
This guitar has quality well above its price range. It feels light weight, but sturdy with great tone and sound output.
For the price, I don't feel like I could have gotten a better deal.

A great guitar for the price!

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years now, and I have played anything from an expensive Martin to an entry level Alvarez. I needed a campfire guitar and I found this Yamaha for less than what I expected to pay for an entry level or second guitar. I purchased the black, and it looks fantastic. I was amazed how nice this guitar looked and played (right out of the box). The action is nice, the strings are nice, and it sounds like a more expensive guitar. If you are in the market for a second guitar or a campfire guitar, look no further.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

Sitting here in Afghanistan and my little girl wanted to hold on to my other guitar. So... I bought this one. It said it was used and I am here in Kabul so my expectations were low. Looks new to me. Packing was good to go. Survived the trip. no dents, dings, or anything but new-ness.

Playing in quiet areas and I always seem to draw people from everywhere. Apparently they can hear it. Even play across Skype with my little girl as a duet.

Waiting for the hardcase to arrive so I can keep it new too.

OVERALL: NICE PIECE OF GEAR

By MyGodReignsForever

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I own this. I just bought it today and for only $149.99 it is a very nice professional sounding guitar. You can't beat the price. I'm a beginner and just looking arouund Guitar Center, I was looking at the $999 guitars and then later found this, the sound quality is as of a $800 sounding guitar. Then I took the buddy home. :) weird enough? haha beautiful guitar, amazing sound quality. Can't wait until I change the strings..then BAM. Cya in concert :)

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I read all the reviews and they all said you should change the guitar strings mine were fine and everything is amazing, the only thing is my guitar had a few minor scratches when I bought it new. The only thing I don't like about this guitar is now it sounds so great my mom constantly asks "bella can you play for me?"

This guitar looks and plays amazingly. It stays in tune for such a long time(after one tune it will stay for like a week). Has amazing sound(10x better than the f-325). Gotten tons of compliments on the black and gold combo. Overall definately worth the money, I would pay much more for it. Awesome guitar!!!

F335 Acoustic Guitar Review

By Harold Hardinge

from Texas

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I would highly recommend this guitar to intermediate and beggining guitar players. However, if you can purchase it at a nearby store, I would. My first one came in damaged and I had to send it back. There was no problem, it just created more hastle trying to get my guitar. But the guitar itself is amazing!
The guitar is very beautiful, especially in the sunburst, and is is well made from all that I have seen. The low action is also great for playing, especially for beginners. The guitar, overall, makes you feel great when you are playing it!
Two of my friends who have played guitar for long periods of time both commented on the incredible quality of sound this guitar has.
For the quality of the sound and product, I would say this is an excellent deal and is well worth it for any beginner!

I own a 1981 FG-335, of which the F335 is an ancestor of. It plays better than ever, the action is highly adjustable in the hands of a skilled luthier.

Yes, this is all laminate but it has a terrific tone.

If you're new to guitar, this is the right one for you.

I'd Take it Over a Martin

By Randall Orme

from Indiana

See all my reviews

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

You'd be hard pressed to find a better acoustic for the price. I haven't. Put some fresh strings on it and you've got yourself a sweet six-string.
This is a very nice looking, well-built, sweet-sounding guitar. There's nothing super fancy here, but it doesn't need it. The neck is fast and has fairly low action with little to no string buzz. The neck has an adjustable truss rod that you don't find on many cheaper acoustics. It also has what appears to be real binding along the body. It's really a nice looking piece.
For the price, this is a phenominal instrument. This little Yamaha sounds and plays as good as guitars that cost many times as much (and in my opinion, it sounds as good or better than some of the more expensive Yamahas). I've played a high end Martin and this guitar minutes apart. The Martin is nice, but there is NOT the huge amount worth of difference between the two. I'm primarily an electric player, but I wanted a solid, cheap acoustic with a nice sound. This one surpassed every expectation.
Absolutely worth the cost. I'd recommend it to anybody.

F335 review

By CLIFFORD CASH

from Las Vegas

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I sanded down the saddle bottom to get the strings lower, but ended up with string buzz, so I went to losen up the trussrod to get a little bow in the neck, It would'nt budge. So I sprayed some wd40 on the trussrod and kept it inverted for a while. I thought I was going to break something it was so tight, but it finally moved. That worked like a champ. So I put some lighter strings on it. 10 - 46 GHS Boomers. Wow, For $ 150.00 I now have an easy to play, beautiful sounding acustic guitar. I love it

Easy to play, huge value!

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I'm gonna be straight forward here. I own a few Gibson electrics as well as some very nice Fenders, so I'm gonna use those for reference. It's an unfair comparison, I know, but trust me on this.I got this thing after owning a few unplayable acoustics. I got a Yamaha because of the quality and the good reputation, and to be honest, because of the price. I'm in the process of getting a nice Guild jumbo, but I wanted a beater, I didn't wanna worry about taking this one all over the place.I've spend hours with this guitars before writing here. It's a very nice acoustic, not the wide open tone you get with some solid tops, not the same sustain, but if you compare it to others in the same price range, this guitar will blow them out of the water. I mean, it's like it doesn't belong in the same category as most guitars out there in this price range. This guitar is very, very easy to play, the neck is quite comfortable if you have medium to large hands. Any old fool can play this, the action was incredible right out of the box, the intonation is ok but not perfect.I got this one new, and it came out with some marks and little things that went away as soon as I cleaned the top a little. The fretboard was dry, but that's easily fixed. The tone is very nice, a nice balance, great for folk and general strumming. Very easy to play leads with this as well, not the best brilliance or volume but a nice, round tone overall. It's got more sustain than other cheap acoustics I've played. No buzzing at all, frets are not jumbo or anything, but it's a smooth neck. Again, incredible action, I can't get over it, that alone is worth the price! The quality is what you would expect for the price. Back and sides look good, the fretboard doesn't look as solid as the Gibson's, but it's perfectly fine. The tuners are smooth. Nut, saddle and pins should and will be replaced, but that can wait a little. The strap pin is a cheap plastic thing, but that also can be replaced for pennies. Cheap guitar but doesn't feel like it at all.Overall, I'm very glad I got this one, and if you want a real nice acoustic on the budget then this is the ticket. Other reviews here speak the truth when they say this is a huge value. it is, glad I took time to do a bit of research.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

I've had three of these guitars. Never used them on stage as I am not an acoustic guitar player. I install Schaller strap locks, brass tone pins and a feedback suppressor in the sound hole and a set of #9 Daddario strings and then i record with it. I play it like my Tele and it gives me a sound I can't get anywhere else. Low action and great sound everytime. The reason I've had three of these is that every time I get one decked out somebody wants to buy it. So, I order another one.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

My old acoustic was almost completely shot so I needed to buy a newer, better one, expecting to spend a pretty hefty price. I found this guitar for an insane deal, and when I picked it up it played just as well as guitars twice its price, as far as I was concerned. I quickly bought it and I can't be happier. The style is extremely slick, as anyone I've shown it to has commented, "Wow, that's a really beautiful guitar." It's not acoustic/electric, however, so that may be a turn off for some that would want to play it at bigger venues or mess with effects, but it fits me perfect. If you want a really really top of the line guitar, or need the acoustic/electric capability then maybe look elsewhere, but if you just want a solid guitar that is fun to play and sounds great, this value is hard to beat.

              Great beginner acoustic

              By John Montgomery

              from Texas

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

Overall really happy with it. For someone like myself who is just getting back into playing after many years absence and doesn't want to immediately lay out the cash for a top of the line guitar or someone who is looking for a first acoustic you really can't beat it. As easy to play as it is easy on the wallet and while there is nothing particularly outstanding about the fit and finish, there is certainly nothing wrong with it either. It's a perfectly serviceable instrument that will suit your needs until you're ready to move up. Based on my experience with this guitar so far I will strongly consider another Yamaha when I'm ready to buy again.
What to say about the features? All the bases appear to be covered for a basic acoustic guitar. Seems to stay tune pretty well and the finish is very nice. I have the Tobacco Brown Sunburst which looks to be more of a caramel color in real life, but that is definitely not a bad thing. The instrument is quite beautiful in person.
For a guitar in this price range I don't think it gets much better than this. Easy playing, relatively low action right out of the box. Pretty much perfect for someone just starting out.
As stated above, I don't think you're going to find a better deal in this price range.

This is a really good guitar with wonderful vibration in the neck when you play. It has rich sound and anything a beginning guitar player would want. I had mine on a stand for about 3 months once and it only needed a little tuning after all that time. It is a pretty hardy guitar. Overall a very good guitar for beginners and intermediate.
