I'm gonna be straight forward here. I own a few Gibson electrics as well as some very nice Fenders, so I'm gonna use those for reference. It's an unfair comparison, I know, but trust me on this.I got this thing after owning a few unplayable acoustics. I got a Yamaha because of the quality and the good reputation, and to be honest, because of the price. I'm in the process of getting a nice Guild jumbo, but I wanted a beater, I didn't wanna worry about taking this one all over the place.I've spend hours with this guitars before writing here. It's a very nice acoustic, not the wide open tone you get with some solid tops, not the same sustain, but if you compare it to others in the same price range, this guitar will blow them out of the water. I mean, it's like it doesn't belong in the same category as most guitars out there in this price range. This guitar is very, very easy to play, the neck is quite comfortable if you have medium to large hands. Any old fool can play this, the action was incredible right out of the box, the intonation is ok but not perfect.I got this one new, and it came out with some marks and little things that went away as soon as I cleaned the top a little. The fretboard was dry, but that's easily fixed. The tone is very nice, a nice balance, great for folk and general strumming. Very easy to play leads with this as well, not the best brilliance or volume but a nice, round tone overall. It's got more sustain than other cheap acoustics I've played. No buzzing at all, frets are not jumbo or anything, but it's a smooth neck. Again, incredible action, I can't get over it, that alone is worth the price! The quality is what you would expect for the price. Back and sides look good, the fretboard doesn't look as solid as the Gibson's, but it's perfectly fine. The tuners are smooth. Nut, saddle and pins should and will be replaced, but that can wait a little. The strap pin is a cheap plastic thing, but that also can be replaced for pennies. Cheap guitar but doesn't feel like it at all.Overall, I'm very glad I got this one, and if you want a real nice acoustic on the budget then this is the ticket. Other reviews here speak the truth when they say this is a huge value. it is, glad I took time to do a bit of research.

This is a basic guitar, to me, it has no noteable features to get excited about but it's a very nice "basic" guitar. Truth be known, I bought the guitar for two reasons: 1) I like how Yamaha guitars sound and 2) I wanted an inexpensive guitar with high action. You would normally not want a guitar with high action but I was looking for something that would make me work harder. I assumed inexpensive = high action. Bad assumption. This guitar does not have high action, nor does it have action that is too low, causing string buzz. I played every note from one end of the fretboard to the other and no buzz whatsoever. I chose black and it's beautiful. The wife received the package when I was at work. By the size of the box she immediately thought "he bought another guitar!" She later shared with me that when she opened the box her first thought was "this is a beautiful guitar." Suddenly it was cool that I bought another guitar.
We all value objects differently, I have given this guitar a "It's well worth the price" label and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first acoustic guitar.
This price and it's yours. Plays beautifully, looks great and sounds wonderful.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
My F335 has fast action and is fun to play. Since I'm getting back into the guitar, I changed the strings from 11 that came with it to Zebra 09. The guitar still sounds great and I can practice longer and even bend notes. I'm impressed with the sound and quality.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
Looked at many guitars, and chose the Yamaha. I'm just beginning, and so far I'm enjoying it despite the sore fingers. The guitar was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Very well made and sounds very nice, to me at least. So I'm looking forward to my first song.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I purchased this guitar because it was inexpensive, attractive, and I've heard of Yamaha for years.
I've been studying guitar for over ten years, and play mainly classical, but do have some nice steel-string acoustics including a Huss and Dalton. I was surprised by this guitar. It was perfectly set up from the factory. The finsish was well done. For a laminated top, it has a very nice sound. The intonation throughout all registers was fine. Interestingly, the saddle does NOT have the adjustment for the B string you find on most low end acoustics. It had light guage strings from the factory that were excellent quality, and a perfect match for the guitar.
I needed to recondition the fretboard and bridge with a conditioner and buff the frets with OOOO steel wool, but these were the only adjustments.
I am very impressed with the instrument and believe it is a good value for any level player.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I bought this guitar to play a song at a wedding in Hawaii and to leave behind as a gift. While here a played a hand-made Koa wood guitar and frankly, the tome of the Yamaha at one tenth the cost was better, more vibrant and projected very well. The Koa guitar swallowed the sound (maybe the back needed a better contour or the wood was too thick - don't know)and while very beautiful was weak in tone. A great second guitar or one a beginner can enjoy for years

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I always loved Yamaha's, ever since my 1979 FG-630 12 String (Best Folk 12 string I ever played). Now with the 6 string F 335 I find the best 6 string sound ever. I LOVE it!!!

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
This guitar plays great. The finish in the picture looks very dull, but in person the finish is very shiny and nice looking. The guitar played very well out of the box. Heck, even the factory strings sound great on it (I'm using them until I get tired of them). It's a beautiful instrument for a great price. Yamaha knows what they are doing.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I bought the black finish and it's beautiful. I really like the gold tuners. Good strong, resonant sound. Saw on the Yamaha Guitar Archives that it was a solid top don't know why it says laminated here or which is true.
I trust Yamaha guitars which is one of the reasons I bought it, the other being the unbelievable discounted price was too good to pass up. I have 2 Yamahas already, one from 1972 & one from 1982 and they are still wonderful, well-built, great sounding instruments. I am re-learning the guitar having played quite awhile ago & I recommend the F335 for beginners as I find that its low action is extremely easy to press the strings without buzzing or dead string sound.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:
I needed a new acoustic, and after seeing this guitar on sale I moved on it. I cannot believe that for just over a century of singles an acoustic can sound this good. Straight out of the box this thing blew my mind. Every time I pick this guitar up I can't help but rock out. Finish is great, sounds like a dream, and neck is fast. I want to buy another just to have an extra!
