I'm gonna be straight forward here. I own a few Gibson electrics as well as some very nice Fenders, so I'm gonna use those for reference. It's an unfair comparison, I know, but trust me on this.I got this thing after owning a few unplayable acoustics. I got a Yamaha because of the quality and the good reputation, and to be honest, because of the price. I'm in the process of getting a nice Guild jumbo, but I wanted a beater, I didn't wanna worry about taking this one all over the place.I've spend hours with this guitars before writing here. It's a very nice acoustic, not the wide open tone you get with some solid tops, not the same sustain, but if you compare it to others in the same price range, this guitar will blow them out of the water. I mean, it's like it doesn't belong in the same category as most guitars out there in this price range. This guitar is very, very easy to play, the neck is quite comfortable if you have medium to large hands. Any old fool can play this, the action was incredible right out of the box, the intonation is ok but not perfect.I got this one new, and it came out with some marks and little things that went away as soon as I cleaned the top a little. The fretboard was dry, but that's easily fixed. The tone is very nice, a nice balance, great for folk and general strumming. Very easy to play leads with this as well, not the best brilliance or volume but a nice, round tone overall. It's got more sustain than other cheap acoustics I've played. No buzzing at all, frets are not jumbo or anything, but it's a smooth neck. Again, incredible action, I can't get over it, that alone is worth the price! The quality is what you would expect for the price. Back and sides look good, the fretboard doesn't look as solid as the Gibson's, but it's perfectly fine. The tuners are smooth. Nut, saddle and pins should and will be replaced, but that can wait a little. The strap pin is a cheap plastic thing, but that also can be replaced for pennies. Cheap guitar but doesn't feel like it at all.Overall, I'm very glad I got this one, and if you want a real nice acoustic on the budget then this is the ticket. Other reviews here speak the truth when they say this is a huge value. it is, glad I took time to do a bit of research.

Guitar has a surface blemish on the face of it. Who ever assembled this guitar tried to sand it out but sanded it in the wrong direction then covered it with a clear finish. The piece of wood should have been thrown away and not used on this guitar but now I'm stuck with it. Not happy with the cosmetic quality of this guitar and will not buy anything from this company ever again

I'm just a beginner, but I've tried at some stores before buying. From the current price range, among Fender, Epiphone and Yamaha options for beginners, the latter was so easier to play and looked to have a better quality.

I never owned my own guitar and decided to finally purchase one so I could begin to relearn how to play. This purchase was the correct one. Came early, packed well and the guitar was barely out of tune right there in the packaging. I love this guitar, sounds great, stays in tune, and feels right!

Received the F355 for Christmas - my first guitar.
Set up was pretty easy out of the box just had to tune. Have been playing daily as long as my fingers can last... this seems to be a good value for the price and my son did all the research before purchasing and he has been playing guitars for quite some time. Nice looking guitar, finish is good and sound is nice - no buzzing. Like it a lot! This will get me thru the cabin fever in N. MI

I've only been playing guitar for about a couple years, so I wasn't looking for anything too fancy. This is a great intermediate guitar for me. Plays well out of the box, with less constant tuning than I expected. Got it at a great price. I love the look of it.

Comments about Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar for the price tag is a no brainer. Yamaha can afford not to skimp on the low end stuff endlessly, and this guitar has never felt low end once. I bought it 5ish years ago to replace the last yamaha acoustic I basically destroyed from 1995 to ?, and it sounds beautiful as any ever.
                      Make no mistake.
I still play a Yamaha RBX170 4-string bass that I've owned since the 7th grade (92')when I joined Jr high band. I still get complimented on that axe not only by the man I pay to dial it in twice a year, but also by every other person who here's me rip it (Rusted Anchor Santa Cruz).
In Fact, I got this particular acoustic on my lap right now (black w/ gold hardware), tuned to D standard w/ some Ernie Ball Earthwounds, and it's still soundin great as it ever has.

                      JUS DO IT. WORTH IT
