Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I was in my local music shop playing around not planning on buying anything. I strummed a few Taylors, Martins, Epiphones the I grabbed this beast. I checked out 10 minutes later and I haven't laid it down since. It has the low end of a full size Martin and the highs of most Taylors. Unpluged or plugged in I have no complaints other than the tuner in mine is quite sharp but I use my own or through my amp. I now have an electric in a Gibson SG, a base Epiphone accoustic (amazing sound, 1 in 10,000) and now this accoustic electric cutaway Yamaha. Also the back and sides are beautiful and the workmanship is really there!! 400$ That is a STEAL!!!!!
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I opened the box, tuned the guitar up and hit a C chord..... not pretty. It sounded like a toy (high strings just just didn't sound good). I immediately changed strings and it sounded better but not good yet. I continued to play it over the next several days (it got better and better) and on the 4th day it sounded complete. It's now a wonderful sounding guitar for the money and I just love to strum around on this Yamaha. It sounds even across the board and tone wise it has a nice bit of depth to it.Everything on this guitar is built nicely. The woods, binding, fretboard.... all of it is nicely done and I can't find anything wrong with the guitar. I don't know much about the electronics though. I haven't plugged it in and I use my own tuner. I mainly wanted a dread cutaway with the option to plug it in if I wanted to in the future. All in all, for the money I think you get a great guitar that you can enjoy playing. The action is a touch high but that depends on your taste and I'm not rushing out to get it setup so it's fine for now. I really like just sitting around and strumming on this guitar or picking some blues licks with it. I'm happy with the purchase and don't think you can go wrong with this guitar.I currently have .11 gauge Martin PBs on mine and it has a moderate bass with good mids and highs.Unless your looking for a $400 Martin or Taylor (which doesn't exist) you'll be happy with this guitar. But plan on changing the factory strings right away.

Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I have owned this guitar for about a year and cant find one thing wrong. It has the best acoustic sound I could ask for in a guitar. It has a rich clean tone even in the amp. No complaints.
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is much more than a guitar. It has helped shape me as a musician, helped me write tons of songs and has been there all through my darkest days and my happiest moments. Over a hundred songs have been written on this guitar, over a dozen shows have been played on it. I continue to use it at my church and they still compliment me two years later (!!) on how good it sounds. The sound tech loves it. And it NEVER (I mean NEVER) sounds bad once it's plugged in. EQ is there but you'll never need to touch it. Tuning is bright, accurate, and easy to read. It stands on its own in a mix of instruments on stage. I don't care what anyone says, nothing near a thousand dollars TOUCHES this guitar. I'm not the only one who knows this. It is a tool, a workman, a voice. Much more than a guitar. Yamaha has outdone themselves with this instrument of choice.
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I have owned my Yami for about six months now and it is a beautiful guitar, awesome sound with Dunlop brass strings. I play it quite hard at gigs and it just looks at me and says "would you like fries with that". I found the action a bit high and have tweaked it a bit and now I'm very happy. That was my only bugbear after purchase. It has a really big powerful sound that unplugged or plugged will stand tall along side most other guitars. The pre amp and it's usability have proved flawless and easy to use Look no further unless you own a bank!
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Even BETTER plugged in. The rich, natural warm tones that come from the guitar acoustically inspire writing creativity while the onboard preamp and EQ will blow your mind in any setting. I've owned this guitar for roughly 2 years now and the amped tones would SLAY most Taylors and Gibsons any day. Very pretty, vibrant, natural; no piezo-icky-crunching on glass tones here. If you can't plug in, this guitar holds its own with a mic in front of it as well. For recording, I've never captured an easier, more evenly-layered acoustic tone. With a creative mix of both preamp and condenser tones, you can get a very interesting combination you wouldn't find else-where. This guitar stays in tune for days (sometimes weeks), looks great, feels teriffic, and takes a beating. The volume knob on mine became jiggly after a couple months of use but that's nothing at all. I've played Yamaha's most of my life but have had Gretch, Taylor, and a few other pricey brands but nothing compares. Just buy one.
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
So, I got this guitar about 2 hours ago, and have been playing ever since. I looked around for acoustic-electrics, played a bunch at stores, etc., and found this one as my favorite. It already sounds beautiful, and it's brand new. So, for people looking for a great acoustic guitar that can plug into an amp, I think this is an awesome, and economical, choice. I got mine in sunburst, and I'm loving it.
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought this guitar a little over a year ago and it has been great. A good sound, great electronics, and nice look make it a great bargain for the price. The only problems I have had were the back of the guitar scratches very easily. Put some elixirs on it and you'll have a great jammin instrument.
Comments about Yamaha FG Series FGX720SCA Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar has nice action for both strumming and finger picking. I've had mine for about 6 months and it plays quite nicely for a guitar in this price range. No buzzing frets at all and the tuner and EQ are very convenient and reliable. So far my only peeve is that my A string will sometimes vibrate and cause feedback when jamming at higher volumes. I just turn down the bass on the EQ. But that's about it. Other than that , well worth it.
