I played one of these at a guitar store and fell immediately in love with it. My buddy played some Takamine', Gibson, Taylor and a few Martins, and I have to say, both him and I loved this model. I have 4 other Yamahas, and this is my ultimate replacement for them. It sounds so sweet and plays so good. The electronics are outstanding. I use this guitar at church twice a week, and it definately sounds good unplugged. When we pipe it into the PA system, the sound is phenominal. It's simply a great guitar for the price, and outperforms some of those high priced guitars I mentioned above.
This baby followed me home today. I couldn't put it down... great quality, and easily beat the lower-end Taylors and Martins. Great both acoustically, and through an amp. This guitar does not disappoint!
After waiting and mulling over this long and hard I finally broke down and bought a FGX730SCA and I'll admit I was disappointed with the unplugged acoustic sound until I plugged it in to a sound system and boy was I pleasantly surprised and so were my bandmates and church audience. Super crisp sound only made better by the onboard equalizer. The onboard tuner is a plus anyday. As for the action of this guitar it couldn't be any better! My fingers feel like they never touch the frets. This guitar is a plus for anyone looking for an acoustic/electric.
I have owned this guitar for a little over a month. I had my eye on the yamaha brand at the recomendation of a music store employee. This guitar has a really good sound very clean and rich, I have a fender kustom 30 watt amp the combination of the two is superb. The guitar is made very well and the picture does not do it justice. If you want an affordable guitar that has a very nice sound acoustically and electrically get this one, I highly reccomend it.
I settled on purchasing the Yamaha FGX730SCA after thoroughly shopping the Acoustic-Electric Guitar market. I looked at Martins, Taylors,Gibsons and found this guitar to be right there with the best for way over half the cost! This guitar sounds incredible through my Tascam 2488 and even better through the FOH...This is a can't miss purchase!!
I have been playing guitar for just two years. I started on a low end Fender acoustic which I like, but had no idea how much easier an acoustic guitarlike the FXG30sca is to play. Right out of the box, after a few minute tune, this guitar just plays so smoothly. The sound projection is superb. No more buzzing on my bar chords. The action is excellent. The appearance is beautiful. Then I plugged in to a G DEC-30 Fender amp and gotwhat I wanted to hear in an acoustic electric guitar. Dynamic across the entire sound spectrum. The only mistake I made was not buying this sooner. Thank You YAMAHA. I have your new guitarsetting right next to my YAMAHA custom Touring series drum kit.
I have a Martin HD28V for witch I installed a pickup. I bought this Yamaha FG730sc really as a backup. Unplugged, the Martin handsdown. Plugged in, the Yamaha handsdown. Smooth and sweet like it suppose to be.
No need to buy anything more expensive than this guitar. You won't find a Taylor, or a Martin, or anything for that matter with solid Rosewood back and sides that sounds like this for this price. If you don't buy it, your loss!Love it, would buy another immediately if it broke or was stolen.
I own this guitar and with out a doubt this guitar will stand up to any Taylor, Gibson, or Martin. This guitar has a sweet resonance and voice all it's own. Plugged in or not this guitar is only limited by the ability and desire of the person playing it. A great value. Get one now!!!!
buy this guitar. really. My church just bought one for one of our worship leaders who's guitar broke in the cold weather. It is amazing. This guitar should cost over a grand but because it doesn't say "Martin" on it, it cost half as much. There is no other guitar in this price range that is worth buying compared to this one.I'm going to buy one as a backup/traveling guitar as soon as I can.buy it.
