Lefties...BUY THIS GUITAR

By GilmourDeservesMore

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

Left-handed players know the difficulty in finding a quality instrument. The selection is just not there. When I found the Yamaha FG720SL at the music shop, I was in disbelief that I could afford such a fine instrument. Beautiful looks, beautiful sound, and an unbeatable price tag have made a Yamaha worshipper out of me! One thing I hate about most acoustic guitars is the action makes them very difficult to play. Not the FG720SL, it has a surprisingly fast neck and is very easy to fret.Sounds great, south paws pick one up today!

Very Satisfied w/ my FG720SL

By JG-mJTl3

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I bought my FG720SL about two years ago when I was decided I wanted to play something besides the bass. I was a little sceptical at first because of the price, but it is worth every penny. I've played guitars that are twice the price, and I wouldn't trade mine for anything. It has an amazing warm sound, good volume and stays in tune well. Highly reccomended.

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I am a total beginner so I cannot be too judgmental. However, I love the lightweight of this guitar and its rich sound. Strings are close to fret board. Others who play guitar told me that I made a wise choice. Wish I could speak from an experienced point of view, but I am very happy with this guitar. So glad Yamaha makes a lefty. I researched Yamaha online, they it gets very good reviews as a guitar maker.

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I prefer the 1 11/16 nut, along with the slender neck profile and standard scale 25 9/16, this is one of the easiest guitars to play. Arrived flawless after a great deal from Chris at musicians friend, the only place to buy. I have bought many guitars for thousands more, wish I had bought this first. At age 58, I know value, this is it. A great strummer. Fit and finish , sound is top notch. Very pleased.

        Absolutely unbelievable

        By Cope

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

Being a lefty guitarist is pretty rough as far as selection goes. Even worse, lefty versions are often fairly more expensive than their righty equivalents. I've been playing guitar for about three months and decided to step off my rental guitar and upgrade to my own personal instrument with a beginner's budget. After lots of research, I decided to go to my music store and try out a few guitars I'd read about online. The Yamaha FG720SL was on my list because of overwhelming positive feedback from people who'd played it. When I got to the store and saw it on the wall, I was very interested. My rental instrument had been a Yamaha FG from the 1980s that was quite worn, so I could see the resemblance to its sibling. However, there was a serious difference in the 25 years. The 720 is so nice to hold and play. It's aesthetically stunning. The wood throughout is very nice, especially on the neck where it feels so smooth and solid without being too heavy. The guitar is flat-out gorgeous, period.I began strumming it and the tone was so warm and clear. I was very impressed by the sound quality. Obviously, as a beginner, I don't have a plethora of experience, but the several other lefty guitars I've used in the price range just don't come close to this. Superb instrument. I recently bought it and am extremely pleased with it. Highly recommended for a first guitar.

        I Love My guitar

        By Southland44

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

Well I bought my guitar about three years ago and it sounded good. But now three years latter I cant even to begin to describe the sound. Of course the wood is aging but it sounds incredible. great for the price. Ive only had two problems: 1 Ive had to replace the g string tunner it was stripped out and wouldnt work anymore. 2 my bridge has created two divets were my g string rest and it breaks my strings frequently but I filed it down and it is now fine. Keep in mind that I have literally played this guitar everyday since I have gotten it. I play in a bluegrass band and it delivers a perfect ring and sound. I highly recommend this guitar.

        nice guitar for the price

        By iheartlespaul

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I played this guitar at the local shop and was stunned at how well it played, the sound, the action, everything was great. I played others around the price range from ibanez and fender and neither was close in craftmanship and especially sound. Given its just a basic guitar with no bells or whistles its still great for a begginger or a hobbyist such as myself.

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I've bought 3 grand martins, owned Taylor GA3, 12fret, gs mini.spent a lot, sold them all, or waited 6 months to get, just to arrived with cracked bridge. This FG720SL arrived flawless, set up very well, neck profile similar to martin P , thin tapper, along with my preferred 1 11/16 , 25.5 scale , it's perfect. Even a little bear claw on Sitka .
Musicians Friend gave a great deal price matching, a steal in my opinion. MF staff always nice, go out of their way to get the best price, they work for you. I will never shop elsewhere. Returns, yes...I returned a electric that wasn't me, no problems, money returned as soon a guitar was received. This yamaha I am very very pleased with. Sounds great, playability is perfect, it's a keeper...age 58, I know value, service.

          satisfied lefty

          By lefty2tone

Comments about Yamaha FG720SL Left-Handed Folk Acoustic Guitar:

I first realized Yamaha made great quality products when I bought an old used pair of 15" PA speakers that to this day still rock. This guitar is no different. Best price for this quality. The action right on, its fast, and the sound is incredible; rich and pronounced. Great tone and great finish. Perfect for the lefty who want rock out at parties and functions without having to plug in. Really wish it had a cut away, but still satisfied.
