Comments about Yamaha FS700S Solid Top Concert Acoustic Guitar:
People ask me all the time about acoustic guitars. You want one with a solid top, Yamaha's 700 S has that. S stands for solid. And it's spruce, and it is well braced. Over bracing kills the sound. This guitar comes with lights and they drive the top well. I have an idea mediums would make it holler, if you want loud out of an acoustic. This is a well built guitar and it's got Yamaha's finesse. It's made in Indonesia, so what, totally does not matter. What matters is these folks are doing great work. Fit and finish is good, tuners are good. Nice fret work, nice saddle and nut, action is impeccable. Can you tell I like this guitar? I would put it up against Epiphone, Hohner, Seagull, Takamine, Fender and others in the under four hundred range. You cannot beat this 700 S. I had a 720 lefty and it was a tad nicer. Put a pickup in that one for a friend, it was his first guitar. Still has it, and plays live with that Yamaha. There are lots of good guitars, this one tops the list for 199. Thanks MF for carrying the Yamaha line, they're wonderful.

Comments about Yamaha FS700S Solid Top Concert Acoustic Guitar:
This is my fourth acoustic. Nut width is exactly 43mm, space at the bridge is 2", scale is 25". I have the bigger FG700 and recently bought the smaller FS700 and I didn't have high expectations given the smaller body. Wrong! This small guitar is around 1/8" deeper than the FG and the sound is even fuller than the FG. When I bought the FG I had to change the stock strings and put an O-Ring to get the sound that I wanted. But the FS has it all. I'm not contemplating to change anything to this little guitar. Even the stock strings sound so pleasant that when is time to change them I will try to get the same strings from Yamaha. Sound is well balanced and loud considering its size. I also have a Seagull Entourage, but its a completely different guitar; not better or worse, simply different. Yesterday I was in a store playing Takamine and Ibanez acoustics, but they do not sell Yamaha. None of the Ibanez or Takamines of similar size and shape could compare to the Yamaha. I took out the FS to play along the employee and he kept asking me to hand him the FS.

Comments about Yamaha FS700S Solid Top Concert Acoustic Guitar:
I've been playing guitar for many years. I usually keep towards electric guitars but I've always had a knack for the sound of acoustic guitars. I was at a local shop not too long ago and I had the luxury of trying out the FG700S and the FS700S. They both are exactly the same, except the FS700S has a slightly smaller body. I fell in love with the FS700S because of the somewhat smaller body style. If you DON'T like the smaller body style and you PREFER the bulkier body style, then the FG700S is for you. Anyways, I can sit and play this acoustic for hours. The sound is fantastic and the strings are set just right. I'm not a fan of acoustics with higher set strings. The ONLY negative observation I have found is that the guitar loses tune. However, this guitar is still brand new so that could be the reason for it losing tune. If you're looking for a great sounding guitar at a fair price, then look no further. This guitar is great for both starters and experienced guitar players.
