OVERVIEW

A high-quality 12-string with solid tonewood mix, comfortable neck and special abalone binding.

Part of Yamaha's L Series, the LL16R-12 is perfect for a big, bold acoustic sound, and perfectly suited to the wide tonal range of a 12-string. The LL16-12's use of solid Englemann spruce and solid rosewood makes for excellent projection and a superbly balanced, powerful sound.

A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
A.R.E. is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.

New Designed Bracing Pattern
A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series' characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone.

High Comfortable Traditional Neck Profile
A reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today's traditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.

5-Ply Necks
The 5-ply neck of mahogany and rosewood designed with a volute at the headstock plus a double action adjustable rod creates a neck with excellent strength and stability.

SRT Zero Impact Pickups
The SRT Zero Impact Pickup system is a newly developed passive type pickup configuration designed to minimize the pickup's impact on the tone and traditional appearance of the instrument. The system utilizes individual piezoelectric elements for each string to faithfully reproduce the dynamic sound of the L Series and give the instrument outstanding presence when playing in a band.

LL Body
This traditional Yamaha body style is known for its rich volume, a wide dynamic range, and excellent tonal balance. Beautiful, transparent tone is the result of a design that has been refined by artists around the globe.

Beautiful Abalone Binding
Based on the LL16, the new LL16R-12 features intricate abalone inlay work around the body and sound hole. The inlays look particularly nice on stage where they beautifully reflect the stage lights.

    Comments about Yamaha LL16R-12 L Series 12-String Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought this blemished due to difficulty finding them. Awesome guitar, rich beautiful sound and can hardly find a scratch on it. Been wanting a 12 strings for some time and now I have one that sounds as good as it looks. Normally priced in the eight hundred or more range, I picked this up for just over five hundred. What a deal. Thanks Musician's Friend!!!

      Comments about Yamaha LL16R-12 L Series 12-String Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was wanting to acquire a 12 string for quite a while. Did pretty extensive research, and decided that the LL-16-12 was the best value. I finally purchased one from MF during a sale, PLUS a rebate from Yamaha. When it came to my door, I opened the box, and was immediately impressed by the quality of the hard case. Then, I opened the case, and was VERY pleased. I checked over the entire guitar for flaws.......NONE!! On top of that, it smelled great, too. But, "the proof's in the pudding". THIS GUITAR SOUNDS AND PLAYS MAGICAL. Action right out of the case was good, and so far, holds tune very well. Then, I plugged it into my Fishman SA220.........WOW!!......sounds like unplugged....but louder...can't say enough about the quality and sound...for a very reasonable price....buy one....you will NOT be disappointed.

        Comments about Yamaha LL16R-12 L Series 12-String Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After months of research decided to give this guitar a shot. I play in an acoustic duo and we use my buddies 1972 Guild 212 as our 12 string. It has an amazing tone but after a couple of songs my hand would be worn out. Received the Yamaha and my first impression was, this is a beautiful guitar aesthetically. Tuned it up and was very pleased with the tone and easy playing neck and low action right out the box. Played for about 45 minutes without fatigue. The next day my partner came by to practice. He played it and had the same view of the Yamaha as I did. We did a side by side comparison with the 72 Guild. Guild is much darker with more bottom end. The Yamaha is beautifully bright with better articulation and is much easier to play. Bottom line is, we are now going to play the Yamaha and give the Guild and our hands a break. Have not tried the electronics in a gig setting yet, but I assume they will be fine. I also test drove the inexpensive Martin, Taylor, and Breedlove - no comparison. For the money and with a hardshell case this guitar is hard to beat!

          Comments about Yamaha LL16R-12 L Series 12-String Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Solid spruce top, solid Rosewood sides. Try and find another guitar at this price point that has those quality of woods. This guitar is playing in a league above its head and competing very well indeed. I can move from my Gibson six strings to the L-series Yamaha 12 without losing any playability or sound quality. This is amazing to me knowing the price disparity between this and other guitars that play and sound at the same quality level as this Yamaha. This should all be expected as evidenced by the great name Yamaha has made for itself in the piano market. And Perhaps Yamaha acoustic guitars are finally obtaining the respect they have deserved for several decades, as I am observing that The big name suppliers all seem to be frequently out of supply of these units. These guitars cost easily be priced almost twice as much as they are. So my advice is to Buy one at first opporatunityAnd hold

          onto it tight.
