Comments about Yamaha PAC212VFM Flame Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because of Yamaha's reputation for build quality. I was not disappointed. This guitar was flawless out of the box. My friend bought another brand inexpensive guitar and it had uneven frets and would not stay in tune.

A 90% elbow 1/4 adapter solved my gripe with the plug location.

Musiciansfriend.com has excellent customer service. When my guitar was lost by the shipper. Musiciansfriend wasted no time in sending out a replacement. It was great to know that MF has real customer service and don't just sub out to some foreign country but they actually take care of their customers themselves. They have actually employees that can empathize with the situation and deal with you intelligently. 5+ stars for Musiciansfriend.com!

Comments about Yamaha PAC212VFM Flame Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I ordered a used PAC 212VFM, discounted about a third off list price. The guitar I received looked brand new. Only flaws I found were the tone and volume knobs were installed improperly. I used one of the enclosed allen wrenches to remove the knobs and inspect the pot stems, which were fine. The knobs were just not located on the stems properly. I put them back on right and everything was perfect. The action was also too high. I adjusted the bridge settings to get a perfect setup. The guitar now plays fantastic! The Alnico V coils sound great. No need to ever upgrade these. The finish is flawless. The flamed top is stunning. I've been playing guitar for about a year, and this will be the perfect electric to hone my skills with. I also have an Ibanez electric with EMG pickups and a 2003 MIM Fender Strat, which I'm selling. I had installed Tex/Mex pickups in the Fender. I like the Yamaha pickups better. The Pacifica has a wonderful range of sounds with the HSS setup. The craftsmanship and build quality are first-rate. The smoother body contours on the Fender are more to my liking, but I like the bigger frets on the Yamaha. The guitar is easier to play. I have a Yamaha acoustic, too, and I'm sold on Yamaha guitars. You get a very good product for the money. The huge discount I got on this barely-used guitar makes it all the sweeter. MF had posted several pics of this guitar on their website. I couldn't be happier with the guitar and the discount. Quite a deal. If you have basic tech skills and can make adjustments and repairs on your equipment, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used guitar from MF. The guitar I received was just as nice as a new one. I had considered buying a PAC 012 and upgrading it as needed, but I'm glad I invested just a little more money to get the alder body and Alnico V pups. This guitar is perfect as is.

Let me start by saying been playing 25 yrs and live and breathe guitar.Okay lets go, pickups stink coil split weak and noisy pots small and scratchy coil split useless.Neck and body is solid you can see were the maple cap was put on body not so good.I think for the money it could have been alot better. guitar has a good feel though. I also recently bought a sterling sub 3 by music man and its so much better guitar for alot less.

Comments about Yamaha PAC212VFM Flame Maple Top Electric Guitar:

I was getting more into guitar and decided I'd get myself something solid yet affordable to start with as a graduation present. I chose this guitar and I really don't have anything bad to say about it. It has great sound and electronics. Each setting provides a different tone making it a good guitar for all around use. I let my friends play it and they all say it sounds great clean and distorted. On the higher strings it can ring past the nut, but that doesn't come through the pickups. Just a little noise when you're strumming not plugged in. Overall fantastic product, I've haven't had any issues with it yet.
