ATW-2110 UHF UniPak Wireless System
Includes the ATW-R2100 receiver and ATW-T210 UniPak transmitter.

Automatic frequency scanning--standard on all 2000 Series wireless receivers--finds and sets the best available channel at the touch of a button. For those using multiple wireless systems simultaneously, the 2000 Series offers another ease-of-use standout: any of its 10 channels may be used together--eliminating confusing frequency groups and other frequency-coordination problems. The 2000 Series also features True Diversity operation, which selects the better signal from the two receiver sections to reduce dropouts; a Tone Lock tone squelch system that fights interference; a rugged metal half-rack receiver with soft-touch controls and LCD display featuring RF and AF metering; and balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" output jacks for use with a wide variety of audio gear. Includes rackmount kit and detachable UHF antennas. Ground-lift switch helps eliminate audible hum caused by ground loops between the sound system and receiver.

AT892C MicroSet Condenser Headworn Microphone
The AT892C MicroSet Condenser Headworn Microphone is perfect for stage, television, and houses of worship. Inconspicuous lightweight under-ear design doesn't interfere with stage presence and provides ultimate comfort and ultrasecure fit. With a capsule diameter of just 1/10", the Audio-Technica microset provides the ultimate in low-profile, high-performance audio. Flexible, lightweight contoured loop hooks behind the ear for a secure, comfortable fit with or without glasses. Delivers the industry-standard sound quality you've come to expect from Audio-Technica. This wireless headset microphone has a rugged construction to meet the challenges of day-to-day use in production, house-of-worship, and theater settings.

Too Much Feedback for Live Sound Performance

I've used this twice now in the one-month that I've owned this wireless system. In the recent past I used wired dynamic vocal mics - AT Pro 31 and Audix OM- either was connected to the open-jam host's Mackie non-powered mixer driving a Yamaha powered main mounted on a tripod stand. With my new AT wireless headworn microset condenser, I was looking forward to better sound and the convenience of a very small headworn mic.The first time I connected the AT wireless receiver's output to an input on my Fender Super 60 tube amp. I connected my Fender Texas Telecaster to the Super 60's other input. Because of serious feedback issues, I was not able to set the Super 60's volume higher than 3, while keeping my distance from the amp which was set on the floor. The second time I connected the wireless receiver to a DOD 431Qx 1/3-octave equalizer with two sliders cut -12dB (minimum setting = maximum attenuation); I found these two settings by trial & error to minimize mic feedback in my setup: 400Hz & 3.15kHz. I "shaped" the EQ as follows (all sliders flat at the detent except for): 250 (-2dB), 315(-4 1/2dB), 400(-12dB), 500(-4 1/2dB), 630(-2dB); 1.6k(-2dB), 2k(-3dB), 2.5k(-4 1/2dB), 3.15k(-12dB), 4k(-4 1/2 dB), 5k(-2dB).With all this extra effort, I was able to set my Super 60 up to 4 on the clean channel volume control before hearing feedback from the headset mic. In conclusion, I like the very clear and natural sound of my Audio Technica BP 892-TH Microset Subminiature Omnidirectional Condenser Headworn Microphone. I dislike the feedback issues I've outlined above. I worked a bit with the host of the open jam by connecting the wireless receiver to his Mackie board and Yamaha powered main, and learned that very serious feedback would result. So be very careful with using this wireless headworn mic in your live-sound performance environment. You want to make it very clear to the salesperson in your music store about what and how you're planning to use this wireless system. Maybe Audio-Technica will introduce a directional (cardioid) version of their subminiature headworn wireless mic. My guess is that my above feedback issues stem from the omnidirectional pattern of the microphone. Thanks.

I own it, I love it

By Sam Smith

from Bluffton, SC

I have had the Audio-Technica ATW-2110 2000 Series UniPak Wireless System with Headset Microphone for several months now and am quite pleased with it. I play in a ?week-end? band and we are very busy with bookings, so I have had ample opportunity to put this through its paces. It is very comfortable to wear, both the body pack and the microphone. You can?t see the mic unless you are a foot away. The sound reproduction is great. The mic doesn?t have to be close to your mouth. Even an inch or so off to the side, on your cheek, it still picks up as well as a hand-held, and I am one of those people who eat a hand-held mic. The one drawback was not being able to get off the stage and interact with the people while singing without fear of some feedback. If you stay away from being directly in front of the mains you are okay. Oh, and the other drawback is forgetting to turn it off between songs and everything you say comes out the mains, like, ?look at that hot girl in the front row??..not cool, but that is operator error and not an issue with the device. Bottom line is that it is well worth the money. I am very pleased.

Great Reasonably Priced Wireless System

By Guitarman-DmAZp

from Farwell, Michigan

I was amazed with the sound quality the AT892C Mic puts out. With the true diversity receive I've had absolutely no problem with signal dropout. It's a fantastic system for a reasonable price. Basically, the only adjustment I had to do was to cut the sensitivity on the transmitter and the AF on the receiver as the system at the factory settings was running too hot.I highly recommend that to someone who wants to be mobile. The vocal quality is excellent.
