OVERVIEW

A double-bass drum must have.

The DW Drop-Lock Hi-Hat Clutch closes hi-hat cymbals without foot pressure, thus allowing you to play closed hats and double bass simultaneously. Disengage and drop the top cymbal by hitting the clutch with a drumstick. Step on the pedal and the DW Drop-Lock Hi-Hat Clutch attaches itself at its original position.

Comments about DW Drop-Lock Hi-hat Clutch:

Great item. Good idea for double kick players. Only problem is that the clutch came out of the package loose. I mean the clutch, when attached, is loose. When I step on the pedal, there is a little play in the clutch that allows it to move a little during play, which is pure slop. It came with an allen wrench. but it won't tighten the slop. I may be returning it if I can't fix it. Can't say whether or not I would recommend.

Works great for switching between single and double bass work. Mine finally wore out after 8 years of service. Going to get a new one.

      DW Drop Cluth

      By CJ

      from Mass

Comments about DW Drop-Lock Hi-hat Clutch:

This is a great drop clutch for anyone. I owned another clutch before this DW one, and found that when you had the cymbals open and you hit them hard enough, they would drop. This clutch does not do that. I feel that the DW clutch is more "well designed and built." It does however fail at letting you set the cymbal opening very low because if you have the clutch dropped, it will pick up the cymbals. But if you set it just high enough it is great.Overall, a great product and i would recommend it to anyone who wants a drop clutch and doesn't have enough to but a tama cobra clutch(which is amazing btw)

      Worth The $$

      By Digo87

      from Fracestown, NH

Comments about DW Drop-Lock Hi-hat Clutch:

Though the price is a bit much compared to other drop clutches, this one beats all other drop clutches, guaranteed. The only thing is if you have a bad hi hat stand that has a thin rod, get a new hi hat stand.

      great product

      By RkBFoNWhl

Comments about DW Drop-Lock Hi-hat Clutch:

This is a great product. The clutch is easy to work with and allows you to play double bass and have closed hi hats. The only down fall is that the hi hats are not tight when the clutch is released, this gives the hi hats a "sloppy" undefined sound. So if you are looking for a tight hi hat sound i would not suggest this product, but if you are looking for a closed hi hat sound and don't mind a little dirty sound to it this is perfect for you.
