Maximum performance from Bose's flagship speaker system.
The 901 series speakers re-create the impact, clarity, and spaciousness of a live performance by reflecting most of the sound off walls and other flat surfaces, instead of aiming the sound toward the listener like conventional speakers. With Direct/Reflecting® technology, anything you listen to--from the latest DVD audio to your favorite vintage vinyl--acquires lifelike realism, because the speakers reproduce the natural concert hall balance of direct and reflected sound. Stereo Everywhere® performance is clear and lifelike everywhere in the room, not just in one sweet spot. The Acoustic Matrix™ enclosures provide clear, well-defined low frequencies as speaker chamber noise is dramatically reduced. The 9 helically wound aluminum voice coils in each cabinet are designed for higher durability, greater efficiency, and superior power handling. The Bose Lifestyle 901 EQ 1915 Series VI active equalizer (sold separately and required for proper operation) helps you enjoy smoother, more natural balance and clarity throughout the audio spectrum. These speakers are also a great choice for use with your surround receiver.
Are you getting the most out of your home audio system? With the Bose 901s, there will be little doubt. Call or click to get a pair today!

I was expecting stellar performance from such speakers, but the moment I listened to them I was disappointed. There is plenty of tech hype surrounding the 901, but whats truly important is how it should sound. While the ported chamber does give the 4.5" drivers a little more bass, for the most part bass is almost nonexistent. Highs are also missing, as the full range cones can't do very much without the harsh rough sound typical of a speaker made to do what it can't. The equalizer requires a pre-out so if your amplifier doesn't have one or doesn't have a tape loop input/output you are out of luck. The equalizer adjusts the frequency response to at least make the speakers listenable, but you will have to increase the bass and treble on your amplifier to compensate for the poor freqency response. On the good side the speaker is very small, and the tiny drivers make for a very "tight" but very weak bass response. What bose needed to do here was install tweeters, and re-engineer the equalizer to make bass response better. The system hasn't changed for years if not decades, but it needs to. Speaker technology has gone way beyond paper cones and foam roll edges. The price is also very high.
