Ive owned and used a handfull of wirelesses for my instruments and this one by far is my preferance. Its design is perfect for someone who switches instruments a lot during shows, and especially usefull for someone who moves alot. Ive had a bad record for ripping out cables and having things go wrong for careless moving at times, and this solved my problems completely.Ive used this for both guitar and bass and they sound great. I even jerry rigged a microphone just to see, and it still sounded great. The range on this wireless is great as well. it does develop a slight delay the further you get from the reciever, but the chances of playing more than 30 feet from your reciever are rare. The only complaint i have is that you have to be very carefull while unplugging it from your guitar. MAKE SURE YOU PULL FROM THE 1/4" jack, not the plastic transmitter. If you pull from the plastic, there is a great chance that you will develop static when you move the transmitter even slightly when plugged in. Things loosen up and its hard to deal with at times.I highly reccomend using velcro on every instrument you will ever use this with, it will make everythign easier.

I have had mine for about a year and it is absolute junk! I had to have the bug replaced once and used it at a couple of practices and it worked fine. As soon as I trusted it enough to use on stage it started making ear piercing squeals. I use a bass with active electronics and it overdrives the unit even with the gain just about turned off. Don't waste you money on this over priced piece of plastic junk! My Nady works better.

    Guitar Bug

I absolutely love it ! Sounds great on my5 string jazz midi Zeta electric violin !This is the best that electric violinist can use: the weight and shape. This is the best choice for the electric violin so far.But the problem hidden in frequency .... I gig a lot - 2-3 times a week and travel a lot. Two times I had a BIG PROBLEM using it on stage in big banquet facility? because of another bands playing in the other rooms or banquet hall's own wireless system. I had to put a wire to play without the problem. What happened, someone else was on same frequency I was and someone elses sound was coming out of my unit and my sound was coming out from theirs' system. Wish that AKG made a same unit with multichannel choice ! Be aware of this possible situation with other wireless system near by !!!!

    AKG is OK.....but

    By LWND Band

I own the same system but with the belt pack transmitter (not the guitar bug). It is OK to say the most I can about it. As a traveling musician I like to rack mount my gear for simplicity. I was disappointed the rack hardware was not included & no one (even AKG themselves) seemed to have it available. I was also warned this will change your tone - and it did. Everything was MUCH brighter. I had to re-EQ my entire board since everyone was now using these wireless units in my band. Now that we have them dialed in, they work OK. When these die we will definately go with something more high end and skip the hassles.

    Garbage

    By Anonymous

Don't buy this unit. Use the money you would throw away on it to buy a Line6 X2 system. After I tried this junk I bought the top of the X2 line. I did the Pepsi challenge on this, don't bother.

    Wireless Guitar System

    By Stan-the-man

    from Dallas-Fort Worth

You really have to be extremely careful when plugging it in and out. Other that, I haven't observed any problems using this gadget. The output sound comes out very stable and clear. I haven't noticed any disturbance noise interferring with the device, although I haven't yet had a chance to move around the stage a whole lot. My verdict is that the device is worth the money and that I would definitely recommend it to other musicians exploring the possibilities of performing without cables.

Works great, but doesn't take abuse

    By LiquidSound

    from Maui, Hawaii

I have no complaints with the functionality of the unit itself...its great to have the wireless freedom...just don't do what I did and leave it plugged in by accident and put your guitar away in your gig bag...the on/off switch immediately broke, and when I tried to paste it back on it made things worse, now I have to use my fingernail to turn it on...bottom line: cool product, cheap design. Buy it but take very good care of it.

    dont get the bug.

    By rockersnowflake7

The bug is junk. Everything works great as far as sound, and it seems great. but you go to unplug this thing or do a guitar spin and the bug snaps off the metal part and sents it flying and you're left with a piece of junk plastic thing. Pass this one up.

    Great product, cheap design

    By showmaestro

    from West Michigan

I've been using the GB40 system for over a year, and playing live with it at least twice a month. The range on the guitarbug is awesome, beyond my rhythm guitarists system which cost about 400. thats a plus! It's size and ease of use is a huge plus versus having the bodypack like most wireless systems. I wanted something that wasn't like everyone elses system, and this was it. The downside, is the transmitters design. the input jack assembly is cheap. the adapter piece keeps coming off, and is not screw on, so it just slips over the mount. it keeps coming off the input mount at shows, so I've had to use duct tape to keep it on. now the piece got bent and I can't use it, but I want a new input adapter and can't find on anywhere.
