OVERVIEW

Go wireless without sacrificing your sound!

The AKG WMS 450 Wireless Guitar Set includes the PT 450 bodypack tranmitter, SR 450 receiver, MKG L instrument cable, belt clip, AA size battery, 2 antennas, rack mounting kit, and power supply.

The AKG WMS 450 is your best choice for any application calling for a solution that is more flexible than a simple plug-and-play system yet easy to set up and operate. The WMS 450 provides a cost-efficient, high-performance solution for situations where several radio mics will be used simultaneously, including gigs at small clubs, small stages, or regional events. Using several single-channel systems has its limitations and may simply be too much for the available radio band.

PT 450 bodypack transmitter< BR/>
The PT 450 is a high-performance, compact bodypack transmitter for a host of applications. Many innovative features enhance both system reliability and user friendliness.

An LC display indicates all important system data at a glance, including the selected frequency in MHz or as a Preset subchannel, available battery capacity in hours, a warning when battery capacity is low, as well as the current transmission mode.

Once you have set a frequency on the receiver, an infrared transmission link will feed the related data to the assigned transmitter within seconds, making the setting up of large multichannel systems child's play. The PT 450 uses a rugged case, and the mini XLR input allows you to connect a wide selection of microphones and instruments. A special jack lets you connect an optional external mute switch enabling the user to mute the audio signal even if the transmitter is hidden in the clothes.

SR 450 receiver

The SR 450 diversity receiver is a cost-efficient, high-performance multichannel system. Up to 12 channels can be used simultaneously within the same subband and even large systems will work smoothly in environments hostile to RF transmission.

Being compatible with professional WMS 4000 antenna splitters, power supplies, and high quality antennas, the WMS 450 enables you to set up highly complex wireless systems. In Auto Setup mode, the receiver will scan the available bands, find an interference-free channel, and transmit the related frequency data to the assigned transmitter via infrared. This technique significantly reduces the time it takes to set up a multi-channel system. A Rehearsal function identifying dead spots, a programmable display clearly indicating all important system parameters, two color display backlighting warning the user of critical conditions from a distance, and a transmitter battery status display on the receiver enhance reliability and add to ease of use.

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

I was a little skeptical with wireless systems for bass guitar because of possible tone-loss but after testing out a few I found a keeper for sure. Battery life is about 6hrs per and my tone had very little change. My only issue was the cable that came with it to go from the pack to the guitar. It was a little short and pretty cheap. Found a guy to make a custom cable and it works great now!

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

The AKG WMS450 guitar set is very good for the money. My only complaint was there was a loss of gain when compared side by side with a cable. I had to turn the volume knob on the front of the receiver all the way clockwise, but still there was a slight reduction in gain. I compensated by adjusting the gain on my amp. I also had to tweak the amp EQ slightly to get the tone back to the sound of a cable. After making adjustment to the amp, the tone and overall sound was as good as before. The system is was easy to use and doesn't drop out or make strange pops or sounds. The construction seems durable enough too. For the price, I don't think you will go wrong with this unit.

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

Don't get fooled by Shure PGX14 instrument, AKG WMS450 sounds a lot better, Shure PGX14 has a lost of frequency when you are playing while the AKG stays the same clear sound as like using a monster cable, so clear.

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

Very good unit. The sound quality is fabulous (after you adjust the unit for your guitar). The range is incredible and it is very simple to set up and use. Battery life is pretty good with a high end battery (6.5 to 7 hours). If I had to have one complaint it would be that the cable from the transmitter to your guitar is not as robust as I would like to see in a unit of this price and quality, mostly on the guitar end. All in all a great unit.

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

Works great with my bass. I walked from my basement studio to the end of my driveway with no dropouts. Used in a couple of shows so far; being able to wander around in the audience (without worrying about dropouts!) is awesome. Great way to get some energy and connection going if they're being standoffish at the start of the show.

          Worth Every Penny

          By Patric Keenan

          from El Paso, TX

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

Yes, Yes, Oh God YES!!! It's perfect. I first tried it out with my bass and it sounded immaculate. Since it sounded so incredible for bass, I assumed that this kind of clarity would make a guitar signal too gainy but when I tested out this theory, it blew me away. It sounded just like I was using a high performance cable. Sure, it's pretty pricy, but as long as you take good care of it, it's the last wireless system you'll ever need to buy. Kudos to AKG for making such an incredible product.

          Bass player choice

          By Boogie Bri

          from Grand Rapids, Michigan

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

I returned a Shure PG14 because it couldn't handle my active bass signal and clipped like crazy. I bought this unit and it blew me away. The signal quality is phenomenal, it sounds better than my monster cable. I am in disbelief.Bass players don?t waist your time on the Shure PG14 this unit blows it away.My only complaint is that it is not marketed as a bass unit and it should be. That is why I bought the other unit to begin with. Also, it doesn't state there is an attenuatoron on the transmitter or volume adjustment on the receiver. Bass player solidarity!

          GOOD SYSTEM

          By Evlunknwn

          from Los angeles

Comments about AKG WMS450 Wireless Guitar Set:

GREAT SYSTEM...it was ready to go right out of the box, works great even through walls...ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT>>>>It claims to come with a rackmount kit, however it makes sense that the kit should come with wires to place the antenas in the front of you rack and not leave them hidden in the back...well it does not come with those cables (RG58)...they are hard to find and when i did find the cables at one guitar center after going to others and a sam ash i find out that they are 60 bux!!!! good product but it shoudl come with all things necessary!!!!
