Simply clip the Radial Tonebone Dragster to your guitar strap and insert between your guitar and wireless transmitter and dial in the desired amount of pickup impedance load you want for full, natural sound.

Regains your guitar's full, natural tone, eliminating that thin, brittle, squeaky sound. Restores the full rich tone you lose when you plug your guitar into a wireless transmitter or other types of buffered inputs like those of effects, mixers, sound cards, or recorders. The compact, lightweight aluminum construction features a bracket for guitar strap or pedalboard attachment.

Dragster's exclusive Drag control makes passive pickups think (and sound) like they're connected directly to an amplifier input by allowing you to precisely dial in the correct amount of impedance loading. Result? Your guitar tone regains its warmth and feels right again and your performance sounds great!

Restores your guitar's full natural tone!

  • Standalone Drag controls load correction
  • Pickup impedance load for wireless systems
  • Regain your guitar's full natural tone
  • Eliminate thin, brittle, squeaky sound
  • Compact, lightweight aluminum construction

Very useful tool

This is a very simple tool--it's just a variable resistor circuit and a couple jacks in a case. It varies the impedance your guitar pickups "see." If you have ever done any direct recording you may have felt the tone was thin compared to the tone of an amp, lacking "body." The dragster reproduces the load an amp put son the pickups. the result is more body and less shrill. If you dial it all the way to "more" you get a very muffled tone, but as you dial it back you hit the sweetspot between clarity and body.

The price may seem high for a variable resistor and a couple jacks in a case, but if you price those components out it's not unreasonable. One thing I don't like about it is there are no markings on the dial. it would be useful, for recording, to be able to recall a setting

Radial Dragster

I bought this but it really is more trouble than it's worth. I decieded to go back to using a cable. For me the fact that it has an unmarked thumbwheel that is continuously variable produces so much confusion that I was going crazy trying to find best setting. Then its quite difficult to A/B with another setting because there are no markings. But I tend to like things simple so if you're a tweaker you may dig it.

Cool Little Gizmo

from Casper, WY

Well, I must say, this little blue box adds back that certain something that you lose when you go wireless. Once that I plugged this in, I felt and heard the wood again, it was really cool. Now just for the sake of experiment, I went through the entire range of the drag and you can over do it and under do it. If you don't put enough of a load on, well you might as well have not purchased it!!! Duh!! But you can really make everything really bad if you over do it. There is a fine line that you must explore with each guitar that you plug into this....or just buy one for each rig!!! A great little enhancer for your rig to bring back that "wood and metal" feel. A great buy!!

Really Neat Device!

from Los Angeles

I am using the Tonebone to warm up my guitar sound on the Line 6 Podxt. The Line 6 sounds awesome on its own, but when I plug my guitar to the Tonebone then into the Podxt, the guitar sounds more real and warm. This is really a neat little device that solves the cold digital effects problem. I'm sure there are other devices out there that does the same thing. But the Tonebone suits me fine.
