      Comments about Amati ABN36 Contrabassoon:

Personally, I love this instrument. Out of the box there are 2 bocals and a contra reed to get you going. The instrument is easy to blow and has a nice rich tone. The keywork is done well and feels consistant and it is a beautiful instrument. The proof is in the sound... A good rich sound in all registers. I sat down with a tuner and some notes are slightly sharper than others. But I can adjust easily. Get some lessons, a good fingering chart and a couple of fine reeds and you are good to go. This is a great instrument for the price.
